Absolutely Satisfied with Faculty and Good Placement.

Placements: About 89.4% placement, the highest 1.4 Cr, the lowest 5 LPA, and the average package almost 20 LPA. Google, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, TCS, DE SHAW, Infosys, etc. This internship opportunity varies year to year. Almost 26% average students get internships in my course. Senior Software Developer, Data Analyst.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi speed is almost average. But here labs are below average as these are old. Classrooms are good. The library is also good, and there are facilities for a digital library. Hostels are older, so their condition is below average. Food quality is good for the mess as well as the canteen. There are lots of facilities for sports and games like football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, carrom. Medical facilities are quite good.

Faculty: Teachers are damn good and qualified as this university's NIRF ranking is 10. Most of the teachers are teaching very well, and some are average. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant. It does not make students industry-ready. The difficulty of the paper is not more; it is average as usual, mostly relevant to the previous year. The passing percentage is quite high, almost 90%.

Other: As you know, this course is very demanding, and I have an interest in coding and programming. Through this course, I can get a good package in MNCs, and it has a lot of facilities for research in AI and ML. This course should be more industry- and job-relevant, not the traditional, which we will never use in a job. There are lots of events and fests like Turn, Sanskriti, Srinjan. This campus is full of students and teachers. For connectivity, bus, auto, and train are used daily. The campus surroundings are very good. In the surroundings, there are a lot of restaurants, malls, gyms, and more. There are lots of extracurricular activities like chess events, mobile gaming events, quizzes, dance, street painting, and many more things.

Inside Jadavpur University.

Placements: The placement percentage for the batch of 24 is almost 96%, with the rest opting for higher studies. The highest package offered was 1.4 crore from Warner Bros, but the candidate rejected it to stay near family and chose to work for a Bengaluru-based startup. Google offered 57 LPA, Microsoft 45 LPA, and Samsung 44 LPA. The lowest package was 3.6 LPA from Cognizant. The average placement for the CSE batch is 17 LPA, which is less than last year due to the recession. Most roles are for SDE 1, while a few choose to work as analysts, data scientists, or consultants.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is where we lack compared to other colleges, as ours is a state government university with limited funding. The buildings and classrooms are quite old, although they undergo renovation almost every year. Wi-Fi is available on campus, and a few classes have ACs while others do not. We have a central library with various books, magazines, and journals. Hostels are only available for students with lower family income. The hostel and electricity bill include only 25 Rs, while mess charges vary but are around 2000 Rs, providing two meals.

Faculty: The faculty is very well-educated; almost all of them hold foreign degrees and have multiple research papers published. Their teaching style can be somewhat boring, but that's common even in IITs and NITs. The curriculum is similar to other good colleges, consisting of eight semesters with exams before each break. It is a bit conventional and needs changes to align with current industry requirements.

Other: I chose this college primarily for the ROI; after paying a total of 9600 Rs over four years and securing a salary of 20 LPA, it seems worthwhile. However, the course needs improvements; important topics for placements, such as DSA and programming languages, should be taught starting from the first year, along with AI, ML, and other relevant subjects. Our college organizes various fests like Sanskriti, Srijan, Ibdita, and several small cultural and technical events.

One of the best return on investment college in the world, Jadavpur University.

Placements: The total batch size is 90. The placements of this year, 2024, were excellent; almost 90% of placements were done even in recession. The highest package was 1.4 crore, and the average package of computer science and engineering was 20 LPA. 3 students from computer science got into Google. Almost all the top companies came for hiring at Jadavpur University.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available all over the campus. Some classrooms have ACs. But the overall infrastructure is a little old, being one of the oldest engineering colleges in India. Sports facilities are excellent, with a football field, cricket field, tennis field, basketball field, volleyball field, table tennis and a lot more.

Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and almost all of them have Ph.D. degrees. The teachers are supportive and the coding atmosphere is quite great. The semester exam is a little tough as compared to other colleges. There is a system for supplementary exams if someone fails.

Other: The best thing about the course is the return on investment, which is even better than IITs. The placement is as close as possible, and JU is one of the most reputed colleges in the country. There are two fests: Sanskriti is the annual cultural fest, which almost takes place for one month and Srijan is the technical fest, which takes place in March.

Jadavpur University - a dreamland.

Placements: The placement rate is high, with almost all students finding jobs. The highest package offered was 2.3 crores, while the average package was 20 crores. Notable companies like Google and Microsoft actively recruit interns from our college. The role of senior software developer is highly regarded in the software industry.

Infrastructure: The university is fully funded by the state and does not receive any financial support from the central government. While the classes and labs maintain a satisfactory level of quality, additional funding could greatly enhance them. As I do not reside in the hostel, I am unable to comment on the quality of food and life there. However, based on feedback from my friends, it is highly regarded.

Faculty: The college is known for its exceptional teachers, who are not only knowledgeable but also extremely helpful in guiding students through exams and managing their studies for placement. However, the math exams tend to be challenging, resulting in a significant number of students failing.

Other: I chose it because it is the best in the state. Be it culture, be it history, education, placement, college life, or any other field. Dream college for anyone.
