NPAT 2026 Registration before Slot Booking
Before a candidate can book a slot, they must complete the NPAT registration process on the exam website, npat.nmims.edu. Online registration requires candidates to create an account via the "Apply Now" tab, and select the desired test category.
The slot booking facility is only activated for candidates who successfully pay NPAT registration fee. The fee structure depends on the number of schools selected; for instance, choosing one school for the first attempt costs ₹2000, while selecting six schools increases the fee to ₹7000. Once the payment is processed, the candidate dashboard will be updated to include the scheduling options.
How to Access NPAT Exam Slot Booking Portal?
To begin the NPAT scheduling process, candidates should log in to their dashboard using the registered email ID and the password provided by NMIMS during registration. Within the portal, candidates should navigate to the "Manage Application" section.
Initially, this section may only show options to download the application or payment receipt. Candidates find "Book a Slot" button once the registration is completed and the slot booking process has started. Clicking this button redirects the candidate to the Pearson VUE website to book desired slots.
NPAT 2026 Exam Slot Booking Process
Once on the Pearson VUE dashboard, the candidate must follow the process below to book NPAT exam slot:
- Review and Agree to Policies: Before selecting a centre, candidates must read and agree to the NMIMS admission policies. Key policies include the requirement of specific identification documents and the strict no-cancellation, no-rescheduling rule.
- Test Centre Selection: The system uses the address provided during registration to suggest the nearest possible test centres. The interface often includes a map to help candidates compare distances. Candidates are advised to choose up to three different test centres to check for the availability of dates and times.
- Date and Time Selection: After selecting a centre, the available dates will be highlighted on a calendar. Sources suggest that candidates should opt for the 12-hour time format when choosing their appointment time to avoid confusion between AM and PM slots.
- Review and Confirm: The final step involves reviewing the selected location, date, and time. If the details are correct, the candidate submits the order. A successful booking results in the generation of an order number and a registration ID, with the status updated to "Scheduled".
NOTE:
- A 24-hour gap is required between the time an appointment is made and the actual appointment time.
- Scheduling is handled on a first-come, first-served basis; therefore, early booking is recommended to secure a preferred slot.
NPAT Exam Scheduling: Phase 1 vs Phase 2
The 2026 NPAT exam is conducted in two phases, each with its own timeline:
- Phase 1: Registration runs from January 28 to March 22, 2026. Scheduling for this phase must be completed by March 30, 2026, for exams conducted through March 31.
- Phase 2: Registration begins on March 23 and ends on May 26, 2026. The scheduling window for Phase 2 remains open until May 29, 2026, with the final exams concluding on June 1, 2026.
A significant advantage is given to Phase 1 applicants: the merit list for Phase 1 is declared earlier (around April 16, 2026), and these candidates have the first opportunity for admission. Candidates who register in Phase 1 can choose to take all three of their allowed attempts (one main and two retakes) within Phase 1 or carry over their retakes into Phase 2.
NMIMS NPAT Attempt and Retake Policy
NMIMS allows a candidate to appear for the NPAT a maximum of three times (one main attempt and two retakes). The registration fee for each retake is generally the same as the initial attempt fee. The university follows a "Best of Three" policy, meaning the highest marks achieved across all attempts will be considered for the final merit list.
It is important to note that once a candidate has completed their main exam, they cannot add a new school within that same test category for their retakes. However, they can add a different category of test (such as NMIMS-CET for Engineering) if they meet the eligibility criteria.
Soon after filling the NPAT application form, candidates get access to a window for NPAT exam scheduling, also known as NPAT slot booking. Candidates who have submitted the NPAT application form can access the exam scheduling window. The exam scheduling window helps candidates choose a desired exam date, venue and time to take NPAT. The exam scheduling window of NPAT exam is available at the applicant login portal that was used for registration process.
Candidates must take an informed decision while choosing an exam date as SVKMs NMIMS will not provide any rescheduling window.
