IIT Kanpur Cutoff 2025: Check Category-wise JEE Advanced Cutoff Ranks

IIT Kanpur accepts JEE Advanced ranks for admission to the BTech and other courses. IIT Kanpur JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 has been released for admission to IIT Kanpur.

The round 1 cutoff for the General AI category candidates ranged between 276 and 10552. Hence, the highest rank acceptable for this category was 10552. See the table below to know the round 1 course-wise cutoff for this category. 

 IIT Kanpur cutoff 2026 was released for admission to the MSc course and its various specialisations based on the IIT JAM entrance exam. The cutoff was published for different All India categories in the form of opening and closing ranks.

A valid GATE score is required for admission to the M.Tech programme in the case of regular (non-sponsored) candidates. The requirement of GATE score is waived off for the candidates with MBBS degree as well as for the BTech graduates from IITs with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in BTech. Selection for the same is done based on GATE scores followed by a Written Test/ Personal Interview conducted by the institute.

IIT Kanpur accepts GATE scores for admission to the M.Tech course. As per the GATE COAP round 1 cutoff, the most competitive course was Microelectronics and VLSI with a closing rank of 935 for the General AII India category students. So, to secure a seat in IIT Kanpur, candidates must secure more than 900 for General AI category.

Yes, a cutoff rank of 1000 in JEE Advanced is considered a safe rank for getting admission at IIT Kanpur for OBC category students. However, you can't get any BTech specialisation with this rank, as the cutoffs are on the competitive side for popular branches. Some of the available specialisations are given below: 

To get the core BTech branches, such as Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, etc, the SC category students must target a cutoff rank of up to 6585 for admission in Round 1. The IIT Kanpur MSc cutoff 2026 was published for round 1 for various All India categories, including the OBC category. For this category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 155 to 1134, wherein M.Sc. in Statistics was the most sought-after course.

IIT Kanpur JAM Cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 2. The most competitive course was M.Sc in Statistics, with the Cutoff of 63. For the OBC AI category candidates, the Cutoff stood at 187, for M.Sc in Statistics.

If the Cutoff rank is more than 63, there is no scope of admission to IITs for M.Sc in Statistics. 

No, you can't get admission in IIT Kanpur with 60% in Class 12. The institute accepts students who have a minimum of 75% (for general category) in Class 12. Even for the reserved categories, the minimum score is 65%. Hence, 60% is not enough to get admission in IIT Kanpur UG courses.

IIT Kanpur also accepts GATE exam scores for the admission to M.Tech courses.
