Yes, IIT Dharwad does provide fee remission on the basis of family income-
If your annual family income is less than INR 1 Lakh, your entire tuition fee is waived off
If your family income is between INR 1 - 5 Lakhs, you have to pay only 1/3rd of the tuition fee.
It is important to note that waivers apply only to the tuition fee. You would need to pay the hostel, mess, development and other charges.
At the time of admission, you pay a one-time fee of roughly INR 6,500 that covers admission processing, identity cards, and alumni membership; these are non-refundable. However, the INR 11,000 caution deposit (which includes library and institute security) is fully refundable after you complete your four-year course. IIT Dharwad BTech admissions begin with JEE Main registration. The exam is usually conducted in two sessions.
