No, JEE exams are not mandatory for BSc admissions at IIT Madras. Candidates who wish to take admissions into the BSc course at IIT Madras must appear for IISER entrance examination. The admissions into IIT Madras BSc courses are decided on merit basis where, the scores obtained by candidates in the IISER entrance exam are taken into account to decide the admissions.

IIT Madras eligibility for each course-level is different. Students need to meet the basic admission requirements to get a seat at IIT Madras. The basic eligibility requirements for IIT Madras programmes are as below:

• For IIT Madras UG Engineering courses - Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 75% and Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects

IIT Madras admissions are entrance exam based. Candidates need to clear the National-level entrance exams for admissions to various courses. For MBA admissions, candidates should have a valid CAT score to appear for CAT Counselling. Based on IIT Madras cut off for MBA, candidates can get admission as per their corresponding rank. Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) will conduct the IISER Aptitude test to provide admission to candidates in the BS plus MS dual degree programme. For the academic session 2024, the IISER aptitude test is scheduled to be conducted on Jun 9 for the BS-MS dual degree course.
