IIT Madras MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
IIT Madras offers an MTech course at the postgraduate level in a full-time mode. The duration of this programme is two years. The institute offers 26 MTech specialisations along with three interdisciplinary specialisations for BE/ BTech graduates across 13 departments. Some of these specialisations include, MTech in Computer Science and Engineering, MTech in Biomedical Engineering, MTech in Aerospace Engineering, etc.
IIT Madras MTech admission 2025 is based on a valid GATE score obtained by eligible candidates. The seat allotment process is then carried out through COAP Counselling. Based on the GATE score, the merit list is prepared by the board and then seats are offered based on the availability of seats at the institute. - MTech: IIT Madras offers a two-year full-time M.Tech programme across various specialisations. The institute inducts candidates for the M.Tech programmes based on valid GATE scores followed by the counselling process.
- MBA: For admission to the full-time two year MBA programme at IIT Madras, candidates are required to appear for the CAT exam. Candidates based on their CAT scores will be shortlisted for the Group Discussion & Personal Interview (PI) round.
- MSc: IIT Madras accepts admission to the MSc programme based on a valid score/ rank in the IIT-JAM exam.
For admission to IIT Madras, candidates must pass Class 12 and graduation before applying for the course.
