IIT Roorkee BArch admission is based on a candidate’s performance in JEE Advanced score. Yes, in order to take admission in IIT Roorkee BSc courses, candidates must first qualify JEE Main. Students who qualify JEE Main are then required to register and appear for JEE Advanced. This exam is conducted by one of the IITs every year by rotation under the supervision of a Joint Admission Board, which comprises of representatives from all the IITs. Students may get admission in IIT Roorkee with 80% in Class 12 as the minimum aggregate ranges between 50% to 75% in Class 12 boards. The aspirants must fill out the application form for JEE (Main) through the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) (nta.ac.in).
Followed by JEE Main, students are required to register for JEE Advanced. Next, candidates have to fill in the registration form, upload scanned certificates, and pay the application fee. The photo and signature in the online JEE Advanced application form will already be populated from the JEE Main application form.
IIT Roorkee offers good placement opportunities to its students. IITR has not released the placement report for the year 2023 yet. No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

IIT Roorkee doesn't offer PhD in Design course through CEED. It only offers a MDes in Industrial Design. Admission to the M.Des programme will be based on CEED 2026 merit rank. The candidate will have to apply directly to the participating college once results are declared.
