IIIT Ranchi BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
IIIT Ranchi BTech is a four-year undergraduate programme that is offered in full time mode. The UG-level programme is spread across eight semesters and mainly offers five specialisations, including Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (with a Specialisation Datain Science and Artificial Intelligence), and a few more.
IIIT Ranchi BTech admissions are mainly entrance-based. Students are required to clear the JEE Mains for the selection process, followed by JoSAA counselling to acquire a seat in the college. Before applying, applicants must make sure to qualify for the BTech eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria: Class 12 from a recognised board with a minimum of 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) or be in the top 20 percentile.
Selection Criteria: JEE Main score + JoSAA

IIIT Ranchi BTech Admission Dates 2025
The IIIT Ranchi application process for BTech generally starts with JEE Main registrations. Registrations are carried out twice a year in two sessions. The JEE Main 2025 dates are out, and the session one exam is scheduled to be held in Jan and the second session exam in Apr. IIIT Ranchi BTech Admission 2025: How to Apply?
IIIT Ranchi BTech admission is entirely based on the JEE Main score. To proceed with the IIIT Ranchi BTech application process, candidates must apply for the JEE Main exams. Once the applicants qualify for the exam, they must apply via the JoSAA counseling and select IIIT Ranchi as the preferred institute from the list of Institutes provided. Since JEE Main exam has concluded, candidates must know about the JoSAA counseling's application process.
Step 1: Register for JEE Main 2025
IIIT Ranchi admission 2025 to its flagship programme BTech is based on the candidate’s performance in the JEE Main exam. Therefore, candidates must register for JEE Main exam by visiting the exam’s official website.
Step 2: JOSAA counseling
Candidates who will qualify for the JEE Main must appply for JoSAA 2025 to participate in the counseling and admission process for the BTech programme in IIIT Ranchi. . Eligible candidates are required to register through the official JoSAA online portal to participate in the counselling and secure a seat in any of the aforementioned institutes.
Step 3: Seat Allocation
The candidate must accept the allocated seat and select one of the following options for their academic program in any subsequent rounds of joint seat allocation as per the deadline: ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’, or ‘Float’. The ‘Slide’ and ‘Float’ options are only available to candidates who are not offered admission to their top choice in their preference list.
Step 4: Final Admission
After seat allotment, candidates have to report to the institute. For admission confirmation, candidates need to submit important documents and pay the fees for IIIT Ranchi BTech course admission.
