IIT BHU review by Deepanshu Ranjan.
Placements: 85-90% of students are placed. The highest package is 2.2 crores per annum. The average package is 22 LPA, and the lowest package is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Adobe, Oracle, Google, Microsoft, Schlumberger, L&T, Tata Steel, etc. Internship depends on the branch you are in. Circuital branches have 60-70% internship offers. Top roles offered are SDE, business analyst, product manager, and consultant.
Infrastructure: Hostels are built new for the first and second-year students and are very great and remarkable. Hostel facilities include free Wi-Fi, LAN network, study tables, cupboards, and tube lights. Meal quality is good and is given a 3-time meal with good varieties. It provides 3 times chicken in a week and 4 times eggs in the breakfast. Registration process is quite easy and is done at the same time as admission and is very affordable.
Faculty: The ratio between teachers and students is 1:30 i.e., approximately 30 students are taught or educated by each professor. Faculty members to students ratio is very good. Professors are quite approachable and very helpful. They are all very passionate and outstanding in their fields. They work on different projects and also provide students with opportunities to assist them. Semester exams are quite difficult as they involve high-level problems that need hard work and consistency.
Other: I chose IIT BHU because it offers very good placements and has a high NIRF ranking. It provides higher exposure in sports as it has a swimming pool, boxing arena, lawn tennis, and squash. It also provides interaction with great personalities as they invite speakers to the college. The college organises outstanding fests for the students to enjoy. The improvement that needs imparting education should be mostly through building projects and assisting professors in their projects. The fests are very fantastic and grand. Scholarships are provided by different companies or alumni based on merit basis.

Review of Indian Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi.
Placements: The recent placement season of 2024 was amazing and much better as compared to the placements of 2023 and 2022 which were hit by recession. In my course, 62% of students who appeared for placements are placed till now, and round 2 of placements is still going on. The highest package of my course was off campus 1.1 crore CTC and on campus-35 lakhs CTC. The lowest till now is 8 LPA CTC and the average is around 16 LPA CTC. The internship was very low. Only 7 students out of 125 received internships.
Infrastructure: At the department, we are well-equipped with smart classes and a variety of labs and machinery. They lack ACs. The hostels have good spacious rooms for 2 students in a room, a gym, a common room, AC equipped reading room, a parlor, 2 canteens, 4 messes, and a laundry room that has 7 washing machines which work on a payment basis. The washrooms are cleaned twice a day, still they are frequently dirty. The problem is stay dogs and cats roam around the hostel and spill the dustbins. The hostel lacks space for sports. The canteen food is amazing. The mess food is also good but it is monotonous.
Faculty: Teachers are highly skilled and knowledgeable individuals who have experience working at big organizations like NIRM and ISRO. Like every other college, the professors are only interested in delivering lectures and going unless students take the initiative to at least learn. Once the student approaches the professors, then there is no bound and limit to which the pros share knowledge and help students. The department pros consider students as their children and help them at every turn of college life whether course-related, placement-related, or guidance for any other things.
Other: The courses here must also include more ML, SDE, and software-related syllabi. This has been integrated this year in one of our courses but this should be included in max courses. The coding atmosphere of the college is amazing. One will start coding easily due to peer pressure! IIT BHU has 3 main fests: Kashiyatra (cultural), Spardha (sports), and Technex (Science). All three fests are amazing. Other club fests are E-summit, FMC weekend, and Jagriti.

One of the best things of IIT Varanasi.
Placements: Our institute offers one of the best placements in India. The highest package reaches 1.2 crore in Mathematical and Computing, Computer Science Engineering branch. Very good coding culture. Top multinational companies visit my college for recruitment like MAANG.
Infrastructure: College is very old, started in 1919. But the infrastructure still stands straight past 100 years. Wi-Fi speed reaches up to 120 Mbps. Classrooms are spacious, installed with projectors. Library meets all the needs of mine, it is fully AC. Study halls are clean and well-lit.
Faculty: Faculty are really helpful. Professor, assistant professor, associate professor, teaching assistant, lab assistant are really energetic. They are really excited about teaching. They are qualified from top universities around the world and are active in research field. They clear all the concepts.

IIT BHU: where engineering meets life.
Placements: IIT BHU has the best placement record. TPC of IIT BHU is really good while providing placements. The highest package of the year 2023-2024 is INR 1.65 CR. 93% of UGC 4th year students are placed with an available salary of 20 lakhs per annum. Top MNCs visit IIT BHU to hire students.
Infrastructure: IIT BHU has decent hostels. Wi-Fi and purified water are provided 24 hours a day. Hostels are double-sharing, and students will get all facilities. In the mess, the Maharaja system was followed by IIT BHU. The menu will be daily-based. Food was quite decent here. TTs and TVs are provided in the common rooms.
Faculty: Faculty are so experienced at the industrial level. They are more into research; students can participate in their research and learn more. Classes are interactive; exam questions depend on class discussions. A relative grading system is followed in IIT BHU.
Other: The overall experience at IIT BHU is really good. It's open campus, so it's not as strict as the rest of the university. It has a good environment for learning many things. 3 fests are conducted here, namely Spardha, Technex, and Kashiyatra. Students get good networking by clubs; they can participate in their choice of interests like dance, music, sports, and science.

Good campus life with ample opportunities.
Placements: We will have ample employment opportunities. Placements are among them. Placements in our college are good enough, around 85 to 90 percent. We will be eligible for the placements after 6 semesters onwards.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this IIT needs to be improved as far as other IITS are concerned. We will find decent hostels situated on campus. It also has its own mess, which provides decent food. Classrooms are also well-equipped with modern facilities. Here, the library has very limited capacity so it needs to be expanded.
Faculty: Here, the teachers are highly qualified and have expertise in their domains. Their teaching style is also very unique. As far as semester exams are concerned, it does not require a lot of hard work to clear them. The course curriculum needs to be updated so that it can be industry-ready.

Honest review of Indian Institute of Technology, BHU.
Placements: The placements in IIT BHU Varanasi are considered very good as compared to the other Tier 1 colleges in the nation and IITs. The median package for mining is 21 lacs, where as the lowest is around 10 to 12 Lacs and the highest can go up to 40 Lacs. Mainly, PSUs or government companies hire in mining field. Students from core branches can also shift and sit for the placements of non-core or IT companies. Companies that come for IT hiring are Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, Goldman Sachs, etc. Generally, 70–80% of students in all branch are placed. On-campus internships are offered in the third year but they are very hard to get and you have to be academically strong. The average package of all the college combined is around 22 Lacs. The placement process and the condition of placements are really good as compared to other colleges in India.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at the college is old-fashioned and may not be liked by all the students. How does the college try to constantly renovate and improve the infrastructure? However, the Wi-Fi facility and internet are good. The library and the reading room are also well maintained and thoroughly used. The classrooms and labs are old-fashioned, and there is a huge scope for improvement in this field. Talking about the hostels, very few of them are modern and the mess food is very average. The medical facilities at the college need huge improvement. Sports facilities are so good that a total of 19 sports can be played on the college campus. There are local food outlets and canteens that have reasonable prices.
Faculty: With all due respect, the teachers are highly qualified but many of them lack teaching skills. The teachers in coaching are better than these professors. The student-teacher ratio is not good at the college, as many students sit in one classroom. The curriculum is average and most of it is not used in the industry nowadays. The students themselves have to put in great work and effort to make themselves industry-ready. The semester examinations are fairly difficult. But a good CGPA can be maintained in core branches or lower branches.
Other: The only major fault in the college campus is that it is not a closed campus; it is open to all citizens of the city and neighborhood. Multiple molestation incidents have happened at the college at night. Pizza is done mainly by the Banaras Hindu University students, whose campus is connected to the IIT campus. Security is also average. Retired policemen of the Uttar Pradesh Police are used. The festivals and college culture are very good and many technical and cultural festivals take place regularly at this college.

Campus Life at IIT (BHU): Detailed information about placements and infrastructure.
Placements: There are only about a few students left to be placed (approximately 10-160) among 5000 which means the placements are very good at IIT BHU. The highest package offered is of around 1.25 crores and the least is 5-6 LPA. Some of the top core companies in our college for mining are Vedanta, HCT, TCS and software companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, etc. Internships in core are very less as compared to the software side.
Infrastructure: There is a main hall in the Library and an upper hall which is further divided into 3-4 halls. Wi-Fi connection is good. The classrooms are also good but mining department is very far from the hostels compared to others. The hostel rooms are very small and they are allotted on triple sharing basis. All the stuff cannot be adjusted as there are only 2 tables and two almirahs which makes it very difficult to arrange the stuff. The food quality is not so good as you get a lot of food and vegetables but the taste is very bad. You cant eat twice but additionally you can get raita and shake, whichever is good.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified. If you ask your doubts, they really help you a lot and all of them are at doctorate positions. In mining, there is a lot of stuff for the future as it is an important field in the upcoming times as well. The semester exams are not so tough, if you carefully listen to all the classes and study daily, then you will surely get good marks. In our college, there is a CPI system and above 8+ is considered as a good CPI.
Other: I chose this course as I am interested in it. This is a unique course and I think better question solving practicals should be provided to the students rather than just focusing on the semester marks. Events like Technex and Kashiyatra are held in our college on a large scale. Scholarships section is very good, they help the students by informing them about every type of scholarships available. There is less security as it open for other persons (not belonging to IIT BHU) as well.

My experience is amazing, and I am eager to share and contribute to the achievements of our college.
Placements: Overall, the placement scale is average. For upper branches (CSE, MNC, ECE, EE), the placement ratio is remarkable, but the situation is pretty tight in lower branches (MET MIN, CIV). Almost 60% of students were placed from my department. The highest package this year in our college was 1.68 crore with 924 offers from 277 companies. Internships also follow a similar pattern, but the ratio is lower here. The top roles offered with the highest package are in APT, as High Frequency is very demanding in the market right now.
Infrastructure: As most well-known departments were built long ago, the infrastructure is not quite good, but renovations take place occasionally for the safety of students and for decor as well. Labs and the library are decent as our college is renowned for its recognizable contributions in research among various fields. The Wi-Fi is excellent, so students may not face a lack of internet as an issue for collecting resources. The hostel infrastructure may vary depending on the year, as first-year students have issues with space in the hostel, but it is sorted out in the second year. Construction work is also in process for building a new hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They have doctorates either from renowned colleges (IITs, NITs, etc.) or from colleges abroad. The limitation is the lack of passion for teaching, which is why the delivery of knowledge becomes quite difficult. The course curriculum is relevant to the department in which you are studying for the specific domain's industry. Semester exams are above average in difficulty, so with quite an effort, you may be able to ace the exams remarkably.
Other: For a better background, I chose the course of engineering through which I am experiencing knowledge of various aspects, from coding culture to understanding and detecting the topography of our earth. The college and staff may provide us with core experience through bootcamps for industry knowledge.
