Placements: 60-70% placement rate with the highest package of 50.7 Lacs and an average package of 16.2 Lacs. Top recruiters for multiple roles include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Uber, Meesho, etc. For core profiles, companies like Vedanta, Caterpillar, etc., also recruit. More than 40% of students secure on-campus internships with companies such as Google, Microsoft, Ola, Uber, Meesho, Myntra, BNY Mellon, Accenture, TATA AIG, TATA Digital, etc. IIT Kharagpur recruits in various roles like SDE, Data Science and Analytics, Finance, Consulting, Product Management, and Core.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi services are excellent, and LAN ports are available in every hostel room offering speeds up to 400 Mbps. The overall facilities and infrastructure are very good, as it is a premier institute in India. Old hostels have relatively lesser infrastructure, but newer hostels feature first-class facilities. Basic amenities are provided in all hostels. Mess food quality varies by hostel; some offer very good quality, while others are less satisfactory. Canteens are available in every hostel. BC Roy Hospital provides good medical facilities, and almost all sports facilities, including courts and grounds, are accessible.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, always ready to assist and discuss doubts. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The curriculum is very relevant and prepares students for industry. Semester exams are somewhat tough due to competitiveness. Since grading is relatively flexible in almost every subject, there are no fixed passing marks.

Other: I was interested in Mining Engineering and also I wanted IIT KHARAGPUR so there were only a few options for me according to my JEE rank. I wish it would be better if there were more field visits. There are multiple events, fests, campus activities, and workshops happening every time.
