Great experience with supportive faculty, vibrant campus life, and value-for-money education.
Placements: In my B.A. (Hons.) Philosophy course (batch 2024–27). Placements are not as strong as in professional courses, but there are decent internship opportunities. Around 20–30% of students from my college receive internships through societies and the college placement cell. The highest package offered is around 4 LPA, while the average stays near 1.5–2 LPA. Companies like Teach for India, NGOs, content creation firms, and publishing houses offer roles like research intern, content writer, or assistant editor.
Infrastructure: Our college has well-maintained classrooms with projectors, clean washrooms, and free Wi-Fi. The library is well-stocked with philosophical texts and general reading material. There are labs for Science and EVS subjects. Though hostel facilities are not available for all, the canteen serves hygienic food at reasonable rates. Sports grounds and a small medical room are also available.
Faculty: Faculty members in the Philosophy department are highly qualified and very supportive. Most of them have PhDs and a strong academic background. The course content is intellectually enriching and relevant for those pursuing higher education or exams like UPSC or NET. Exams are moderately difficult, but the pass percentage is good if you study regularly. The curriculum is a mix of Indian and Western Philosophy, with ethics, logic, and critical thinking skills.

Janki is an underrated college.
Placements: Placement opportunities are mostly Commerce, Econ, Marketing, or English-oriented, ranging up to 4-5 LPA for undergraduates. Apart from others, companies such as Amazon and Flipkart have also come to our college. For research-oriented subjects, the Research Centre is rather proactive.
Infrastructure: Facilities such as fully functional AC computer labs, a research room, an e-resource room, a recording studio, and a mezzanine floor in the library are present. Smart boards, tactile flooring, and Braille descriptions on the lift and such are made available for PWD students. A huge football ground, other sports facilities including an Open-air Gym, and NCC equipment ground are present.
Faculty: All teachers are qualified and polite to approach. The teachers are open to doubts and, apart from class notes, provide extra study material from online sources as well. The pass percentage is almost 100% in my department; this is not according to official records, it's my personal assumption.
Other: The college offers umpteen numbers of extracurricular activities with 44 societies. Even as an off-campus college, personality development is remarkable if only one wishes to take part. Scholarships and fee assistance are provided.

Good academics, supportive faculty, but limited placements for philosophy.
Placements: For B.A. (Hons. ). Philosophy course at Janki Devi Memorial College, University of Delhi, latest placement data (2024-2025) indicates that approximately 30 students secured placements, with an average package of around 3 LPA and top recruiters including Snapdeal and Nykaa. Around 65% of students obtained internships at organizations such as Amazon, Snapdeal, and Myntra, while the overall college placement record shows packages ranging up to 11 LPA.
Infrastructure: Janki Devi Memorial College offers well-maintained classrooms, a digital library, campus-wide Wi-Fi, sports facilities, and a modern auditorium. Krishna hostel provides secure accommodation with Wi-Fi, medical aid, and basic amenities, though students have occasionally reported mess food hygiene concerns despite overall good infrastructure.
Faculty: Faculty in B.A. (Hons. ). Philosophy at JDMC is qualified, approachable, and ensures concept clarity. Curriculum is academically strong but not directly industry-oriented. Exams are moderate in difficulty, and pass percentage is consistently high.
Other: Extracurricular activities are well-organized. Hostel seats are limited, and PGs are common alternative. Interest in philosophy and a desire to pursue higher studies or civil services motivated my choice. Engaging discussions, supportive faculty, and a strong theoretical foundation. More internships, practical exposure, and dedicated placement opportunities. Active societies, annual fests, metro connectivity, clean surroundings, and good scholarship support enhance student life.

Infrastructure and college life in Janki Devi Memorial College .
Placements: The Placement Cell of JDMC ensures students from all courses get opportunities to pursue careers in their field. Internship and placement opportunities are shared with the students, who can apply as per their convenience. The roles offered include data analysts, content writers, and marketing interns, among others.
Infrastructure: The college offers good internet connection in all its computer labs, along with accessibility in the library, seminar room, and recording studio. The infrastructure is accessible and convenient to use for all students. There is an auditorium with a well-designed green room for performing arts, along with music rooms and student activity rooms. An on-campus hostel with canteen services is available for all first-year students.
Faculty: The curriculum is followed as per the guidelines of the University of Delhi. The teachers make the classes interactive and engaging, bringing debates and discussions to each topic, making it more interesting and understandable. The course curriculum makes the students more curious about the subject.

A college with not so good college life.
Placements: A maximum of 30 students got placed from my course. The average package is 3 LPA. Snapdeal and Nyka are the top recruiters. 65% students enrolled in several internships like amazon, snapdeal, Myntra, etc.
Infrastructure: Infra is not wow but yes it can be accessed easily. The library is good but labs and classrooms are not good. Hostel of JDMC, that is, Krishna hostel is one of the best hostels in DU. Canteen's food is the worst. Sports and games are okay.
Faculty: Some teachers are quite helpful while some are quite arrogant. The quality of teaching could have been better. They all live in some wonderland, and they don't prepare us for future. Just events and fests are organised. Exams are easy.
Other: I have been into philosophy since I was 16, that's why I chose this course. It has practical use in different fields. Events are good but campus life is not so happening.
