B.E. Mechanical batch 2017-2021 review.

Placements: The placements cell is working good but they need to pull in more relevant or core companies for the students. TVS and L&T are the top companies. But mostly we got IT companies which they really need to look into. We have been provided internships at various companies as well as field trips which were very useful. Many of us got good roles like GET, Engineer, Assistant manager, etc.

Infrastructure: The classrooms are well maintained with good lighting and ample space. There is no Wi-Fi provided. The library is good. You can rely on them for any reference you’re looking for or in need of any authors, they'll cover for you. The labs need to be maintained at all times. Sometimes, the machines get stuck up or some issue arises. The management not only focuses on studies, but they give equal respect to your sports goals as well. They'll support you to the full extent if you promise to keep up with your studies. For day scholars, it is better to bring food from home. The food quality is good but the taste and price wouldn't suit you.

Faculty: The teachers in our college were good, especially in mechanical engineering. They were knowledgeable and helpful in clearing the doubts of the students. Our department made students industry ready and made us aware of what the industry required and how to act accordingly.

Our college has a great campus.

Placements: Most of the students from our batch got placed in core companies like L&T, TVS, etc., as associate engineers or engineers. Our college should provide placements in more core companies related to the mechanical sector.

Infrastructure: Facilities provided in our college were good and adequate. Hostel facilities were good and enjoyable. Our college provided sports facilities and encouraged students to participate in the events. Labs were good and equipped with all the machines and tools.

Faculty: Teachers in our college were good, especially the mechanical department. They were knowledgeable and helpful in clearing the doubts of the students. Our department helped students to get hands-on experience in new technologies. The course curriculum made students aware of the happening in the industries currently.

Great mechanical department.

Placements: Placements in my college are very good. When I joined, the percentage of placements was 97%. As of now, I'm seeing many seniors getting placed, and the placement team is working really hard for the best future of all the students. In the third year, placement begins.

Infrastructure: The mechanical department is worth studying. The facilities are wide, and the course enables us to gain a greater understanding of mechanical operations and everything related to them. The hostel is very neat and clean. They provide very nice food.

Faculty: The teaching environment is great, and the teachers are friendly to all the students. Exams are held, and the students with low grades are treated with special care. They provide exams every month. Class tests for every topic are kept in a continuous test log. Management is perfect.

Other: The overall activity of the college and the mechanical department is really nice.

Mechanical department is satisfying because of faculty.

Placements: In Mechanical department Almost 90% of students are placed in companies like Tata autocom, Tvs lucas, Capgemini and other core company as well as IT company. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA and the highest salary package offered is 10 LPA and above. Top roles offered are design engineering, quality engineer and production.

Infrastructure: College provides clean classrooms, more laboratories and a completely green surrounding. The campus has wi-fi facilities all over. Classrooms are neat clean and having projector classrooms in our department. Our college infrastructure is excellent .

Faculty: Faculty members in our college are well qualified and knowledgeable. The course make students industry-ready. Department staffs teach more lessons every week and teach additional course and programs. That was very helpful for the interview. They conduct more events and exams.

It has good infrastructure and surroundings but no good placements except in CSE and IT.

Placements: In mechanical engineering, no placements were offered. There were no core companies. Some IT companies came to our college for recruitment, but it was difficult for mechanical students to clear their interviews. Students can join CSE, IT, or ECE.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was above average. The hostel, campus, classrooms, and lab facilities were good. The mess was not good enough for the money we paid. In terms of sports, it was good. Hostel life was good. They conducted hostel days and sports. The hostel warden, Mr. Gregori, was supportive.

Faculty: Faculty members were very friendly, except for some. They were good at teaching. They conducted several exams and shared important questions. Semester exams were conducted by Anna University. Exams were somewhat difficult to pass. One of the major troubles was that they didn't simply give us internal marks. If we got good internal marks, we could pass the main semester exam. Many students failed. It was my biggest upset towards some of the faculty.

Other: I am a mechanical engineering graduate. At the time of my admission, the automobile industry was at its peak, so I chose it. If there was more practical teaching than theory, that would be good. Events are not that good in KCG. In Kanyakumari, they invite big celebrities for college days, but in KCG, it is the opposite. A new course, fashion designing, has been introduced in our college.
