The college is too beautiful and good in everything.
Placements: In this college, too many companies come to give placement to students, and most of the students got placed, but in Computer Science engineering, the placement ratio is the highest. The average package is 15 LPA, and the highest package is 52 LPA.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi facility is not good. Hostel, all facilities are good. Mess food is good, and all services in the mess are good. Classrooms of the college are well settled. The library gives you all types of books, all authors' books. In the library, you have all study-based and other types of books.
Faculty: The teacher is too helpful. Teachers are qualified from top universities. In college, the exam level is moderate, sometimes easy, sometimes hard. The teachers are too friendly and nice in nature. In exams, almost all students pass in all semesters.

Really well-furnished infrastructure of our college with a new building and very good placement.
Placements: 43.5 percent of students got placed in the batch of 2021, and 59 percent in the 2024 batch. The top recruiting in my branch in the 2025 batch is 13.5 lakhs in Flipkart and 13 lakhs in Sigma, and the top recruiters are L&T, Flipkart, and many others. An internship is mandatory for every student after the second year, so it is a necessary thing and a role in a company as an SDE at Flipkart.
Infrastructure: There are different labs in our department, like the concrete technology lab, surveying lab, geotechnical lab, and AutoCAD lab. There are ample number of classrooms in our department. We have a 3-story library in our college, and the department also provides a seating area for studying in labs and departments. For the hostel, we have a well-equipped hotel with sports facilities like table tennis and badminton court, and a gym with a common room, library, TV room, and fully air-conditioned mess.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. They have published many research papers, and they also have good teaching experience. The course curriculum is industry-ready, skill-based, and laboratory-based, all of which are needed for a job in civil engineering. The college exams are a little bit difficult, but above 85 percent of students pass the exam.
Other: The honest reason behind this is my rank, but after getting to this college, I understand that college is a choice, not a branch you can achieve in any branch or any stream.

Absolutely satisfied with the college life I lived. Good infrastructure, hostel rooms must be AC.
Placements: Almost 90% of students get placed from all the eligible ones. The highest package offered is 18 LPA, and the lowest salary is 5 LPA. PSUs are top recruiters. In civil engineering, students have to find internships on their own if they want to work in any private organisation. But the faculty members are very helpful if students want to research internships. Top roles in civil engineering are basically technical management training and graduate engineer training.
Infrastructure: Hostels are well-built with Wi-Fi facilities. Libraries are new with all the Wi-Fi and LAN facilities. Classrooms are really neat, clean, and spacious. Talking about the food in hostel, it's really good. Just feel like home internal dispensary is there if students are facing any issues even late night. Ambulances are always there. Staff is very supportive. NIT Jalandhar promotes sports at a very good level.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They are always available for students. They teach all the things that are related to our curriculum. Talking of the difficulty of semester exams, they are not that much difficult exactly what that difficult is teaching in your classroom.
Other: The teaching and atmosphere are engaging students don't feel like they are away from home. It's overall learning with fun and knowledge. One thing I would like to say, we should improve is site visits, or in hand experiences except for the labs.

Civil branch- scope in government jobs.
Placements: The placement rate of the college is average, and it is decreasing yearly due to the heavy recession in the IT market. Most companies are not coming to NIT Jalandhar for various reasons. Many top companies are hiring only a few students. The placement rate of the college is 85%. Top recruiting companies are JSW Steel, Honeywell, Microsoft, Google, Wipro, TCS, Samsung, Nokia, College Dunia, and Intel.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good, and many developments are taking place. Many air-conditioned classrooms are being installed. CCTV cameras are present throughout the campus. The college has full Wi-Fi and internet coverage. There is a medical dispensary on campus, and many pharmaceutical companies provide free medicine to students.
Faculty: Exams range in difficulty from moderate to hard. They are conducted in three forms: mid-semester exams, end-semester exams, and quizzes. Students generally score well in quizzes and mid-semester exams, but end-semester exams are more challenging. The teaching methodology is similar to that used in schools. Professors are knowledgeable and provide ample support. Students are given assignments to aid in their understanding of the material.

Not very satisfied with the college and faculty members.
Placements: I am currently in the 3rd year of my B.Tech in civil engineering. There are not as many interns from my batch. Only a few students get internships. My seniors are also suffering to get placements. Only a few companies come to our college for placements. They only pick 2-3 students at a time. From my batch, less than 10% of students got internships by themselves. Some of my seniors get placed at PSU and L&T.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi in labs and classrooms. You will rarely get your network inside the classroom. Hostel rooms are properly spaced and don't have attached bathrooms. Bathrooms' sanitation is not good. Food quality is below average. Medical facilities are average. Sports and games facilities are better but can be made more better.
Faculty: Apart from helpful teachers, some are not even tolerable. They always show the power of their post. In my department, only 3-4 teachers are well-educated and knowledgeable. I think the course curriculum is the only problem for fewer companies. The passing percentage is 40%. Exams are easy, but it is difficult to get good marks.
Other: I chose this course by mistake as I got fewer marks in JEE Main. But overall, it's a good course. The best thing is that there are a lot of government jobs in my course. Something could be better if some teachers get replaced and equipment in labs should be modified. The curriculum is revised. Events and fests were good when I was in my 1st year but now from 2 years, there are very less fests. Only 1-2 in two years. Scholarships are there for students who are in need. You only have to find one and apply. All documents are required. If you are eligible, you will get it.

    Q:   Is NIT-Jalandhar good for B.Tech CSE?
    A:
Environment is good. Seniors are always friendly. No ragging. Ragging is prohibited strictly. Punjabi food is nice. So, obviously mess food is average. Various events. There are various clubs like LADS, MADS etc. For co-curricular activities. You will get exposure to brilliant minds (I am talking about seniors and not faculty). Placements for all branches are good. If you are in top 10% of your branch, than there are more opportunities. Training and placement cell works in a better way. Its not cumbersome to get NOCs, training letters. They always give their best to increase placement records. Campus's greenery is beneficial. Campus is clean most of the times. Technical and cultural events Techniti and Utkansh attracts 3040 colleges every year and you get more exposure. You will get exposure to various international conferences, workshops. New short term courses are launched under GIAN (Global Initiative of Academic Networks) initiative of MHRD which can be attended by students as well as faculty members. Infrastructure is improving a lot. New lectures theatres are built. New department buildings are in process of building.

There is a relaxation for SC candidates in the fees. You don't have to pay tuition fees which constitute the major part of the fees. For more, you refer the institute website- http://www.nitj.ac.in/
