This is a really good college. Its Mechanical Engineering department is better than some NITs.
Placements: For Mechanical Engineering, around 60–70% of students get placed. Out of 93 eligible students, 53 students were placed through on-campus placements. The average package is 11.44 LPA, and the highest package is 23.50 LPA. Placements have been good so far, and students are happy with their placements.
Infrastructure: Labs are really good. The Strength of Materials lab has most of the machines required for the study. The lab equipment is also good.
Faculty: Professors are really good, and discipline is well maintained. Semester exams are manageable. The pass percentage is around 20–30% per subject, which is easy to maintain. The course curriculum is relevant and helps a lot with future projects. Students can also pursue studies beyond the course curriculum on their own.
Other: I am a first-year student, my overall experience so far has been good. Students also get good exposure through club activities.

The best placements from the old legendary college.
Placements: From our prestigious institute, most of the students have been placed so far. This year, the placements have taken a great turn with on-campus placements of about 55-60 percent, and the lowest package from our college is about 5.4LPA, and the highest is 60 LPA from CSE, ECE, and Electrical. Whereas Internships have decreased by about 4-5 percent. About 15 percent of students have got internships in companies like JP Morgan, McKinsey, and BMW from my course. Top recruiting Companies from our college are Cent, Airbus, McKinsey, JP Morgan, Apple, Zomato, Meesho, Phones Pe, Amazon, etc. Top roles offered are as follows management, SD profile, Data Analyst, Marketing, Sales, etc.
Infrastructure: PEC is more than 100 years old and has an average infrastructure i.e., very old. Development is currently taking place in our college, and new buildings and a hostel are being built. The quality of food in the hostel is above average, cleanliness is good in the mess and washrooms, and the sports and games department also offers many opportunities and equipment to pursue your hobbies.
Faculty: The mechanical department faculty is good, and really experienced and knowledgeable. And if we talk about its exams and curriculum, it's proper on an application basis, and exams also check the level of the student so that he or she can be a part of the mechanical course.

PEC, Chandigarh, review about teachers, college life, events, etc.
Placements: As I have heard about placements, they are good, and many seniors got a pre-placement offer during internships. As I have heard, the internship and placement offices are quite helpful. Compulsory internship for all in the 6th semester. The average package offered is 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Nice infrastructure of the college, but the hostels have poor infrastructure. Since the college is very old, many departments have no infrastructure. Nice sports facilities available with an athletes' ground, football, table tennis, cricket ground, swimming pool and gyms.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Course curriculum is relevant, but some facilities are *. But they give many assignments, I'm confused about what to do, either complete assignments, prepare for practical or exams or complete attendance.
Other: The most amazing part of the college is the clubs and the annual fest of the college, PECFest. There are many clubs which include cultural clubs, technical clubs and social clubs. The only reason to hate the college is the strict attendance policy and ban on branch upgradation.

Dissatisfied with hostel but satisfied with college life.
Placements: Almost 50 percent of students got placed this year. The highest package offered is around 20 LPA, and average package is around 9 LPA to 10 LPA in B.Tech mechanical engineering. Top recruits are Mahindra, Tata, Maruti Suzuki, American Express, Infosys, etc. From 120 students of mechanical engineering, only 2-3 students gets paid internship. Top roles offered are automation and robotics engineer, design engineer, production engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is good. The overall campus looks so beautiful and clean but in 150 acre college area, 20-30 acres are just houses of professors. 1st year hostel (Shivalik) is not good, design is average but on rainy day water comes into room from balcony side. In a room, one or two students are adjusted but students are good so that will not be a problem. Mess food is tasty but there is a limit to tasty items like samosas, and they use too much oil.
Faculty: Teachers are good and very supportive (excluding some). Some are very knowledgeable and qualified. Some are M.Tech students in teaching first year. The young teachers are very good at teaching and very supportive as well. College curriculum is designed to give new as well as primitive knowledge of engineering. There are many clubs so branch doesn't matter, you can go to any field. Semester exams are difficult but not much about 90 percent of the 1st year students pass semester exams.
Other: There will always be events and workshops happening. Seniors are very supportive, and there is no ragging. You will connect with the best people in this college with good clubs. You can go to big colleges for participation and college will return your complete money. Scholarships for BPL card holders are 100 percent, for SC/ST is 50 percent, and batch toppers 50-100 percent for every semester. There is no scholarship for hotels. There is a scholarship from alumni for low-income students which is only for maximum 15-30 students so EWS students can have problems in getting scholarship.

Overall experience of PEC Chandigarh.
Placements: Recently, internship placements were held, and the number of students placed was a little lower than expected due to a change in rules this year. Internship is now shifted to the 4th year in place of the 3rd year. Students have been placed in fields like analyst, bank, and parts purchasing in top firms like BMW.
Infrastructure: All the labs and equipment are functional, and Wi-Fi is available in hostels. The library is also good for studying and sitting for long hours. The quality of food is also decent, with mild flavor, and there is a market on the campus. It has a dispensary and food outlets as well. Sports are also great. The gym is free for all students.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. The course curriculum is relevant and gives a brief exposure to the industry. A lab of 4 hours is conducted once every week, devoted to industrial machinery exposure. The level of exams is above average to difficult, and the pass percentage is 90 percent.
Other: I chose this course to pursue a career in my interest in automobiles and automotive engineering. Events are conducted throughout the year, and the PECFEST is famous throughout Chandigarh.

East or West, PEC is best.
Placements: Placements are comparable to many top NITs. Placements are nice considering the rank you can get here. Almost 80 percent of students get placed in this college. Top recruiters like JP Morgan, Samsung, Apple, and Google come for placements. Electronics Engineer is the role offered in my course.
Infrastructure: There are various mechanical engineering laboratories which are fully Wi-Fi and have ACs in them. There are various hostels in PEC for boys and girls. Food is quite good and the rooms are okay. There are various grounds like athletics, football, and badminton for sports. The quality of the rooms is okay and the food quality and taste are good.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified from various top colleges like NITs, IITs, and many foreign universities. The curriculum is relevant apart from some old courses such as ED. There is no difficulty in passing the exam, and students can pass the exam by studying one week before exams.

Hello Manish, As you are aware admissions to this college are as per JoSAA. With 1.5Lakh as ranking it would be tough to get admission in normal course. Just see if there are any quotas for management. Also ho through the link that I am attaching for a college predictor. https://www.shiksha.com/en

Hi Ujjwal, As per your score, it will be difficult for you to get admission in this college. At the same time apply for some private colleges also. Best of luck.
