National Institute of Technology (NIT), Calicut, offers a regular Master of Planning (MPlan) course in Urban Planning at the School of Architecture and Planning. The duration of the course is two years, divided into four semesters. The institute offers this course in a full-time mode. The campus of the National Institute of Technology Calicut is located in Calicut (Kozhikode) city. NIT Calicut covers an area of around 120 hectares. The campus is green, and the ambience is very enjoyable. It is a residential campus, with all amenities available on and around the campus. There are 13 hostels on the campus, out of which 10 are for boys and 3 for girls. All the hostels have a common room and recreational centre where newspapers, magazines, TVs, and indoor sports and games facilities are available. Free 24-hour internet and computational facilities are available in almost all hostels. Messes operated by outsourcing are available in all hostels. The central library has a collection of over 1.55 lakh books, 193 national and international journals, and other resources that cater to knowledge. The institute provides transportation services for the campus community in the morning and evening shifts. The bus service also runs in the afternoon from the east campus towards the hostel area.

NIT Calicut offers a regular Master of Planning (MPlan) course in Urban Planning. The institute offers this course in a full-time mode over a duration of two years. Admission to the course is based on GATE score followed by CCMT Counselling. The seat intake for the course is 16.
As per unofficial sources, the total tuition fee of the two-year Master of Planning (MPlan) course offered at NIT Calicut is INR 1.4 lakh. Thus, is indicative. The hostel charges are INR 1.55 Lacs and a one-time fee payment of INR 30,500 also has to be paid at the time of admission. Candidates can further visit the NIT Calicut website (nitc.ac.in) for more information on fee structure.
Bachelor's degree (BPlan or equivalent) with a minimum of 60% aggregate is the basic eligibility for the Master of Planning (MPlan) course offered at NIT Calicut. Candidate must have the UG degree in relevant discipline. The degree must have been issued by a recognised university/institute. Candidates must hold the relevant documents as well as a proof of eligibility.
NIT Calicut admissions are entirely entrance-based for all its UG & PG courses. Candidates are shortlisted based on their past academic records along with their scores in the respective entrance exams accepted for different courses. Further, the institute also conducts GD and PI rounds for the final selection. Eligible candidates can apply by visiting the official website of the respective entrance exams. However, for MBA, candidates must apply on the official website of NIT Calicut.
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate (6.0 out of 10 CGPA) for SC and ST categories) is the basic eligibility required to get admission to MBA at NITC. The aspirants shall further have a minimum of three-year work experience. Furthermore, all the documents such as bachelor’s degree, mark sheets, etc. are required at the time of admission for verification purposes.
Apart from JEE Main, NIT Calicut offers admission to BTech course based on DASA UG scores. Based on cutoff 2020, 2021 and 2022, NIT Calicut cutoff for Round 1 Seat Allotment can be expected to range as follows:

No, NIT Calicut does not offer direct admission for any of its programmes. Students need to appear for the accepted entrance test/ counselling and clear the selection rounds to get a seat in the institute.
