NIT Kurukshetra NIT Kurukshetra Admission 2025: Cutoff, Fees, Eligibility & Application

NIT Kurukshetra offers a two-year MBA course through the Department of Business Administration. To get admission to this course, students need to qualify for either of the entrance exams (CAT, MAT, or CMAT). After qualifying for the entrance exam, students need to qualify for group discussion and personal interview rounds for the final selection. Tabulated below are the eligibility criteria and the total tuition fee of the MBA course offered by NIT Kurukshetra:

GATE CCMT cutoff was concluded after Round 6 for NIT Kurukshetra M.Tech admission. As per the NIT Kurukshetra cutoff, the last round closing rank for MTech ranged between 434 and 483, among which Computer Engineering (Cyber Security) was the most competitive specialisation. During the NIT Kurukshetra cutoff, the Round 1 closing rank for MTech in CE (Cyber Security) stood at 513 for the General AI category students. Considering the Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks, candidates seeking admission to the NIT Kurukshetra MTech course must secure a rank between 400 and 550 for the General All India category students.

Admission to the BTech CSE course at NIT Kurukshetra is done through JEE Main, which is conducted by NTA every year in two sessions. Aspiring students need to qualify for the exam with a valid score and appear for the JoSAA Counselling. For the selection of candidates for vacant seats, the college also accepts admission through CSAB Counselling. NIT Kurukshetra BTech admission is based on the entrance exam. Candidates who want admission must first meet the basic criteria for eligibility and then take the entrance exam. NIT Kurukshetra BTech admissions are based on JEE Main scores, followed by JoSAA counselling. Candidates must secure a 90% or above percentile to get admission to BTech courses offered by NIT Kurukshetra. The basic eligibility criteria to get admission to NIT Kurukshetra is to pass Class 12 with a 75% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject.

The second session for JEE Main 2024 took place for the BE/BTech paper on April 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 in two shifts of 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. On April 12, the BArch/Bplan paper was held in a single shift from 9 am to 12 am. 

If we compare the tuition fees of NIT Hamirpur, NIT Kurukshetra and NIT Rourkela we will see that NIT Hamirpur and NIT Kurukshetra are the most affordable. They have similar total tuition fees of INR 1.4 Lacs for an MBA. Whereas, NIT Rourkela total tuition fee is INR 4 lakh.

Having said that, NIT Rourkela offers the most amount of MBA seats out of the three NITs, as it offers 75 seats compared to 40 and 53 seats for NIT Hamirpur and NIT Kurukshetra, respectively.

The institute offers direct admission to BTech courses only to the DASA process, that too with fulfilling certain eligibility criteria. However, JEE Main is what gives admissions to the BTech programmes at NIT Kurukshetra. Hence, Indian students can not see themselves in the NIT Kurukshetra BTech programme without JEE Main scores. 

As per NTA - The governing authority for DASA UG admissions - announced JEE Main 2025 ranks will be the basis for admission. In contrast to Indian candidates who must register for JoSAA counselling 2025, all foreign citizens must apply for JEE Main 2025 and, upon the announcement of the JEE Main ranks, must register for DASA counselling in order to be considered for admission.

Let's see who can apply for DASA UG admission:

Foreign nationals studying in any country, including India, as well as Indian nationals studying abroad who meet the specified admission criteria, are eligible to apply for the DASA UG program.

For Indian nationals, the criteria are:

1. Completion of at least two years of education, including 11th and 12th grades or equivalent, in a foreign country within the last 8 years.
2. Successful completion of the qualifying examination from abroad.

Eligible candidates must also have a JEE Main rank and should have completed Mathematics, Physics, and one additional subject from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or Biology in their 12th grade. Additionally, they must have secured at least 75% marks (or a CGPA of 7.5 out of 10) in aggregate, as per their respective boards.

In order to apply for BTech at NIT Kurukshetra, students are required to apply via JEE Main. The process of application for JEE Main 2025 consists of three steps, i.e., registration, form filling & document upload followed by payment of application fees. Follow the below steps to fill out the JEE Main application form:

Step 1: Open the official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in) and click on the 'Registration for JEE (Main) 2025 link.

Step 2: Fill out the registration form with the required information followed by clicking on the submit button.

Step 3: Fill out the detailed application form and upload scanned images and documents.

Step 4: Pay the application fees.

NIT Kurukshetra offers a total of 1242 seats in the BTech programme, from which the highest number of seats are given to BTech in Computer Science Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The eligibility criteria for admission to BTech at NIT Kurukshetra require candidates to qualify for Class 12 from the Science stream with a minimum aggregate of 75%. Additionally, the selection process involves the valid scores of JEE Main. 

The popular course at NIT Kurukshetra is BTech. The course is offered in 10 specialisations. Those who are willing to take admission must fulfil the basic eligibility criteria and then qualify for the entrance exam. The basic eligibility criteria is that the candidate must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject. The college has allocated a specific number of seats for each BTech specialisation. The BTech programme has a total intake of 1,007.

NIT Kurukshetra offers a 4-year BTech programme in 10 specialisations. Candidates refer to the table below to know about the specialisations and the seat intake:

NIT Kurukshetra has concluded its cutoff seat allotment rounds with the release of Round 6 cutoffs. NIT Kurukshetra cutoff 2024 spanned from 350 to 523 for General AI category candidates. NIT Kurukshetra has offered two design related courses: M.Tech. in Machine Design and M.Tech. in VLSI Design. As per the NIT Kurukshetra MTech cutoff 2024, the Last Round score for MTech in Machine Design and MTech in VLSI Design concluded at 372 and 494. So, candidates aspiring to get into design related MTech course must target a score of 500 out of 1000 to get into NIT Kurukshetra for MTech (Design) courses.

NIT Kururkshetra cutoff 2022 is yet to be releasee. For the upcoming admission session 2025, the admission authority will release the DASA UG cutoff 2025 after the seat allotment result of each round is declared. The cutoff is made available as opening and closing ranks for all the participating colleges and courses. The preparation of the cutoff marks depends upon various parameters like the number of applicants, seat availability, etc.
