Average engineering life of a Bangalore college student.
Placements: They update the percentage of students placed in each branch each year. Last time, the highest package is 54 LPA and the lowest is somewhere around 4 LPA. Product-based companies also come for recruitment. Many students publish in IEEE and have secured multiple internships.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are well lit and spacious. Desks have extra space to keep your things. Projectors are there in each classroom. Free Wi-Fi is available in the library. A digital library is also present for people with no laptop. The labs have systems with good specs too. Hostel students are also quite satisfied.
Faculty: The faculty is very good. They provide notes and actively teach the content. Doubts and ideas are well entertained. There are help desk members available to help you with different problems too. They take feedback on the course and faculty. Practical skills are prioritized. The exams are quite easy as it is autonomous.
Other: Computer Science in RNSIT is recommended by many, and I think it is living up to the recommendations. There are a lot of group projects encouraged. Fests happen, but something will be happening weekly at least. Clubs for different interests are also there.

Absolutely satisfied with placements in 2025, good faculty, and infrastructure.
Placements: 80% of AIML course students are placed, the highest package is 20 LPA ongoing, the minimum is 4 LPA, and the average is 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Lido, Kickdrum, Texas Instruments, Codeyoung, and Adobe. In 2025, the highest CTC is 41.642 LPA, with 43 internship offers.
Infrastructure: Facilities are of a high-level experience and are friendly; they help in guiding research and participation in competitions. Wi-Fi is available on all floors with good downloading speed, and the canteen is pocket-friendly for students with great taste, offering more space and being super clean. The library has all kinds of books for studies and computers in different rooms, and the lab is equipped with all working computers.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is good. This course curriculum is relevant. It does make the students industry-ready. The semester exams are not difficult, with more than 90% passing.
Other: I chose this course because of the demand in the job industry. Events and fests are held more often, the campus is near the bus stand, and the college offers more extracurricular activities.

    Good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: CSE Batch 2024–28 (RNS Institute of Technology). About 75 percent of students are placed. Packages include the highest of 18 LPA, the lowest of 3.5 LPA, and an average of 6.5 LPA. Recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini, and Cognizant. Around 60 percent of students received internships at TCS, Infosys, and startups. Roles offered include software engineer, analyst, developer, and QA.
Infrastructure: Well-equipped classrooms with projectors, campus-wide Wi-Fi, modern computer labs, advanced software tools, and a rich central library are available. Hostels are clean and secure, and mess food is decent with canteen access. Medical care, sports grounds, a gym, and indoor games are also available.
Faculty: Faculty members are qualified, experienced, and supportive, with good subject knowledge and a mix of theory and practical teaching. The curriculum is relevant and aligned with VTU, and includes programming, core CS subjects, labs, projects, and emerging technologies, which help students become industry-ready. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty, with regular study, they are manageable. The pass percentage is around 85–90 percent.

It has decent academics with average placements and a good campus environment.
Placements: In CS, CS allied branches, and ECE students usually get better placements than others. Basically, it is the same as other Tier 2 colleges. As RN Shetty has a name, we get better treatment than other colleges in tier 2. The top recruiting Companies for our course are Mind Hives, Infosys, Cognizant, Oracle, etc.
Infrastructure: Hostel amenities are considered to be average, as only the bare minimum of facilities are available. The food served in the mess is eatable. However, it is not of a very good standard. The canteen provides a few choices that are moderately priced. Health care services are minimal since only first aid and a hospital in the area are provided in case of emergencies. There are some sports facilities for both indoor and outdoor games. However, the extent to which these will be used depends on the level of enthusiasm of students.
Faculty: Faculty members at RNSIT Bengaluru are, in most cases, well-educated, seasoned, and experts in their respective fields of study. Generally, staff members are helpful and friendly, especially when internal assessments are going on and during doubt and clearing sessions. However, the quality of teaching may differ from one faculty to another. The program is based on the VTU syllabus and aims to equip students with a sound theoretical base. Still, learners have to take the initiative for self-study, doing projects, and joining internships if they want to be competent in the industry.
Other: Events organised are good for freshers. Teachers are good and kind.

RNSIT unfiltered: Faculty, facilities, and finals.
Placements: RNS IT has been above average in placements since 2022. But since 2024, there has been a drop in placement rate, mostly in Electrical and Mechanical branches. But in EC and Software-related branches, there has been a steady rate of placements in campus recruitment itself. The college has a greater reach to a variety of industry-incorporated companies. But there are little restrictions to do internships on our own before the 7th semester. Even after the 7th semester, students have to maintain a minimum attendance structure. The main recruiting companies in my domain are BOSCH, ACCENTURE, DELL, and some VLSI startup firms.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of RNS is above average. The college is not congested, and the buildings and blocks are systematically and strategically located. There are respective blocks for each branch. There is a mechanical block for Mech, EEE, CSDS branches, and most of the first-year students. There is an IT block for pure CS, AIML, AIDs branches. There is an EC block with labs and a great ambience. There is an MBA block. The labs in each block are neat, spacious, and well-equipped with upgraded systems. There is a good court which is a great outlet for reasonably priced lunch, breakfast, and snacks.
Faculty: The 2023 batch is the last batch to be affiliated under VTU. After 2023 batch, i.e., our juniors are free from VTU affiliation and study under an autonomous authority or syllabus. Faculty for my domain, i.e., EEE, are knowledgeable and have an understanding mentality rather than being ignorant. They are skilled and exceptional in their field and not only teach the syllabus but also arrange workshops, placement training, and project assistance. There are three internals, where the best 2 are considered. Each internal is for 50 marks. They give us 2 writing assignments and 1 Coursera course (for which we got free membership).
Other: I chose EEE from my interest. Both EEE and EC have a decent placement rate with a decent package depending upon the skills we acquire and develop during our UG duration. The students annually conduct fests, both inter-department and college fests, with readily available sponsorship. This year, my branch conducted Vidyuth fest, which had both technical and non-technical events. The college fest is Parichay in November. There are many clubs which you can join, both tech and non-tech. So you can gain a vast ground to develop skills and gain exposure.

Positive experience at RNSIT, even though there is a huge scope for improvement.
Placements: So far, 404 students have been placed successfully from my batch, making it around 35% of students. The highest package offered is 56 LPA, and the lowest is 3.6 LPA from Infosys. The average is around 4 to 10 LPA. Do not expect a lot of companies to offer above 15 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Rakuten, Oracle, LSEG, Infosys, Cognizant, Maximus, LTI Mindtree, Emphasis, etc. 266 internship offers (22%) are given out by various companies like Bosch, Oracle, Target, etc. Top roles offered are SDE roles or data scientist roles.
Infrastructure: Our college has good facilities when it comes to library space, and classrooms are well-maintained and spacious. Labs with working systems are also available. Wi-Fi is available in certain blocks, but the speed is low. The hostel feels a little cramped. Washrooms can be cleaner. Food is not good in the hostel mess, but canteen food is really nice. Most hostellers eat in the canteen sometimes. Canteen cleanliness is maintained. Everything is cooked in front of you, and it is hygienic. There is an ambulance parked on campus in case of emergencies 24/7.
Faculty: Most teachers are very helpful if you approach them. They encourage and guide you to make projects, write research papers, and also guide you academically. Teaching quality is average because it really depends upon the teacher you get. The college is really trying to introduce sessions from different industry experts, certification courses, and training, which help a lot in becoming industry-ready. The exams are not extremely difficult, and with just a little effort, you can easily maintain a 9+ CGPA. You need to work harder for 9.5+, but I know many people who even maintain a 9.9.
Other: One thing elevates the campus experience is joining a club. Any club will do, RSC, CAT Chiranoothana, any cultural club, or even technical clubs like IEEE. It not only improves our knowledge but also makes college life lively.

But sometimes in case when improvment tests are not provided they tell you in before hand. So you need to study well. It all depends on the scenario.

If a student misses an internal exam at RNS Institute of Technology, the department may conduct a re-test if there is a valid reason and proper permission is taken. Otherwise, the internal marks may be calculated based on the remaining tests or the student may receive zero for that particular exam.
