Faculty: The civil engineering faculty at RNSIT is experienced, supportive, and helps students in academics as well as projects. Exams are conducted in a disciplined manner with proper evaluation, and the difficulty level is moderate. Overall, facilities are good for academic and technical development.
Other: For diploma students, RNSIT offers civil engineering through lateral entry, where diploma holders can join directly into the 2nd year of the BE course. Fees are approximately 1.27 lakh per year, depending on admission quota and other charges.

Building my Future at RNSIT: A Civil Engineering.
Placements: I am a civil engineering 6th-semester student, and regarding the placement in our department, it is happening for the final year students. Most of the placements are going to the final year students from off-campus because of the opportunities available in and around the college due to the college being located in Bangalore city.
Infrastructure: The facilities available in our college include a centralised library with all updated books, a few journal papers, and other articles that help with the students' career development. The college has different blocks, and on each floor in all blocks, there is a Wi-Fi facility that we can use. In our department, we have 9 labs, and the Building Construction lab is the new lab that was established recently. All classrooms are equipped with projectors, which are very useful for our understanding purposes. The hostel quality is good with quality food.
Faculty: In our civil engineering department, all faculty members are well qualified and experienced, and all of the faculty members specialise in core areas of civil engineering. The course curriculum is developed to meet industry requirements, with all updated software included in the curriculum. In each semester, we have 3 internal exams as per the VTU requirement.
Other: Traffic congestion at peak hours makes it difficult to get into college on time, and we need one more canteen facility inside the campus.

Satisfied because of supportive teaching staff, knowledgeable field visits, reasonable fees.
Placements: Civil engineering placements at RNSIT are decent but not outstanding. IT is not something you should choose, expecting great placements or top-tier exposure. Most people who take civil here either genuinely like the branch or didn't get other options; placements are the biggest concern. Core civil companies do come, but not in large numbers, and the packages are usually on the lower side. The average is around 3-5 LPA, and even that isn't guaranteed for everyone. A lot of students either prepare for GATE or look for government jobs on their own. Civil here is not a good option.
Infrastructure: I have no improper comments on this one: decent hostel, well-maintained and clean, good food on time, good security, proper ventilation! About classrooms: there is no good network. We don't have a good network in the classrooms, but we do have internet connectivity (Wi-Fi), which can be used by students for their own work, etc. Classrooms are pretty good, well-ventilated, but have less sunlight. A few classrooms don't have projectors. They bring manual ones.
Faculty: The teachers here are very good and very helpful. They have many years of teaching experience in this institution. The teachers are really supportive, funny, lively, and a bit strict; it is obvious. Their teaching skills are pretty good, and their way of explaining things gives us a good understanding of the subject and the topic. In short, perfect teachers (a few exceptions are always there).
Other: I chose the course (civil engineering) because the boom for civil has started rising again, and I chose this college because it has built a great civil engineer (SIR RN SHETTY). One more reason is that it is closer to my house. The fees here are reasonable, it is good value, and the teaching staff is good, which I knew about because I had completed my PU course here. These were the basic reasons to join this college.

Civil engineering department- Future civil engineers.
Placements: I am studying civil engineering. Placement opportunities in our course are moderate. Around 50-60 percent of students get placed every year. Some of the top recruiting companies include construction firms and infrastructure companies. Mainly, site engineer, junior engineer, and project assistant are the roles offered. The average package range between 3 LPA to 4 LPA, with a few students getting skills.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good with well-equipped labs, classrooms, and a library. Wi-Fi is available, but it can be slow. The hostel facilities are average. Basic amenities are provided to students. The quality of food in the mess can be managed. But it can be improved in terms of taste and hygiene. We also have medical facilities available for basic needs.
Faculty: Faculty members are qualified and helpful. The teaching quality is decent. The curriculum is relevant but needs more practical exposure. Exams are moderately difficult, and most students pass with proper preparation and regular studies. The academics are satisfactory with scope for improvement in practical exposure.
Other: I chose civil engineering because of my interest in construction and infrastructure development. The best part of the course is the practical knowledge, supportive faculty, and campus environment. The campus environment is friendly. There are some good events and extracurricular activities.

Review of the Civil Engineering department at R.N.S. Institute of Technology.
Placements: In our civil department, offline placements are available. All faculty members give the references and job opening details in the 3rd year itself. Companies like Prestige and other MNC construction companies provided placements. Our seniors have attended and secured jobs in various positions. Site engineers, draughtsmen, and Auto CAD jobs are also secured with good salary packages.
Infrastructure: The Civil Engineering department is equipped with comprehensive facilities and infrastructure to support both theoretical learning and practical applications. The campus provides high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity across academic blocks. The department has well-established laboratories like the geotechnical lab, the environmental engineering lab, a surveying lab, and a building material testing lab. Recently, a new lab was provided called the Building Construction Lab, which is very familiar with on-site skills and implementation. We are provided with good hostel facilities with hot water, good and hygienic food, well-maintained beds and rooms.
Faculty: Faculty members in the civil engineering department are well-qualified, with many holding PG degrees and some having doctoral qualifications. The teaching quality is good for both theoretical and practical explanations and practical activities. The course curriculum is relevant and covers core civil engineering subjects. It may not be fully sufficient to make students completely industry-ready on its own. Students are encouraged to pursue internships, site visits, and learn.
Other: Civil is the best core engineering subject compared to other branches, as we are exposed to on-site interactions and gain professional skills, so I chose it. The course helps develop problem-solving skills and updated software like Primavera 6, BIM Advanced, MEP, and ETABS. Some other software related to civil engineering subjects is taught by our department.

My experience as a civil engineering student at RNSIT.
Placements: I am a 3rd-year civil engineering student at RNS Institute of Technology (RNSIT), Bangalore (2027 pass-out batch). Based on my experience, placements for civil engineering are moderate. Around 50 to 60 percent of students get placed, and the remaining students get off-campus drive jobs. Internship opportunities are available for civil engineering students from the 5th semester onwards. In my batch, 6 of my classmates got the internship opportunity at IISC Bangalore, and they are continuing.
Infrastructure: We have 2 auditoriums with a seating capacity of 3,000 students and 250 students. Our college has 2 open sports grounds, one basketball court, and indoor playing areas. A gym is also available for students. 2 temples are located on our campus near the auditorium. The quality of our campus is very good. I can call it a green campus because our campus has plenty of trees. Our college provides 2 hostels, one for boys and one for girls.
Faculty: Faculty members are generally supportive and experienced with extensive knowledge about the practical and updated software of civil engineering, like BIM and Primavera P6. In a semester, we have 3 internal exams and one end-semester final exam, with an assignment as a Coursera certificate, NPTEL, and a technical site visit report as a part of the curriculum to fulfill the semester-end requirement.
Other: I chose this course because I am much more interested in the construction and design of buildings. In our department, I am studying all the new software that is required for a civil engineer. Practical exposure with an industrial visit is given in every semester for each subject. Every semester, events, fests, and many more activities happen without disturbing classes and other academic work. I am very happy that I participated in the Luninus-2026 technical fest conducted by the Civil Department in the Bridge IT competition.

RNSIT - one institution with many vast opportunities for each student with all core subjects.
Placements: Placement opportunities at my college are decent. They provide the training to gain the industrial skills like Revit MS project, ETABS, Revit MEP, and AutoCAD. The college provided an opportunity to participate in the IISc internship with Traffic Survey.
Faculty: Faculty are well trained, and all the faculty members are well technically sound, and each faculty are well versed with all the relevant core subjects skills. All the faculty members teach the laboratories with utmost teaching skills while handling all the labs, and after every lab session, a small viva will be conducted to check the knowledge gained by the students.
Other: In our college, all the sports and cultural events are very decently conducted, and we as students will take care voluntarily for the smooth happening of each and every event. My college has been a great place for both academic and personal growth. My college provides good exposure to technical tools like AutoCAD, REVIT MS Project for the future. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience and recommend this college to students who are willing to learn and grow in their careers.

Placements: Around 60-70% of students from the Civil Engineering course got placements through campus recruitment. Some students also prefer higher studies or government exam preparations instead of placements. The highest package offered on this campus is 6 LPA. The average package offered ranges from 3-4 LPA. Students get placed in companies like L&T Construction, NCC Limited, and Sobha Limited.
Infrastructure: The college provides good infrastructure. Classrooms are spacious. There are well-maintained laboratories, including the concreting technology lab.
