RNSIT unfiltered: Faculty, facilities, and finals.
Placements: RNS IT has been above average in placements since 2022. But since 2024, there has been a drop in placement rate, mostly in Electrical and Mechanical branches. But in EC and Software-related branches, there has been a steady rate of placements in campus recruitment itself. The college has a greater reach to a variety of industry-incorporated companies. But there are little restrictions to do internships on our own before the 7th semester. Even after the 7th semester, students have to maintain a minimum attendance structure. The main recruiting companies in my domain are BOSCH, ACCENTURE, DELL, and some VLSI startup firms.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of RNS is above average. The college is not congested, and the buildings and blocks are systematically and strategically located. There are respective blocks for each branch. There is a mechanical block for Mech, EEE, CSDS branches, and most of the first-year students. There is an IT block for pure CS, AIML, AIDs branches. There is an EC block with labs and a great ambience. There is an MBA block. The labs in each block are neat, spacious, and well-equipped with upgraded systems. There is a good court which is a great outlet for reasonably priced lunch, breakfast, and snacks.
Faculty: The 2023 batch is the last batch to be affiliated under VTU. After 2023 batch, i.e., our juniors are free from VTU affiliation and study under an autonomous authority or syllabus. Faculty for my domain, i.e., EEE, are knowledgeable and have an understanding mentality rather than being ignorant. They are skilled and exceptional in their field and not only teach the syllabus but also arrange workshops, placement training, and project assistance. There are three internals, where the best 2 are considered. Each internal is for 50 marks. They give us 2 writing assignments and 1 Coursera course (for which we got free membership).
Other: I chose EEE from my interest. Both EEE and EC have a decent placement rate with a decent package depending upon the skills we acquire and develop during our UG duration. The students annually conduct fests, both inter-department and college fests, with readily available sponsorship. This year, my branch conducted Vidyuth fest, which had both technical and non-technical events. The college fest is Parichay in November. There are many clubs which you can join, both tech and non-tech. So you can gain a vast ground to develop skills and gain exposure.

It has great faculty and infrastructure. The campus life is enjoyable with good fests and events.
Placements: I am currently studying in Electrical Engineering at RNSIT. The placement scene looks promising, and around 75-80% of students get placed. For core branches, the average package ranges from 4-5 LPA. Some of the top recruiters for EE include Bosch, L&T, TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, and even a few startups focused on renewable energy and embedded systems. Around 60% of students got internship opportunities, some via campus in companies like Bosch, ABB, and Schneider Electrical. In our department, most of us are active IEEE members. Our department has student branch chapters of the Power Electronics Society and IEEE.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is pretty good. We have access to well-maintained labs like a machine lab, power systems lab, and control systems lab. Wi-Fi connectivity is decent and available in academic blocks. Classrooms are clean and equipped with projectors. The library has good reference material for core subjects. The central library is pretty big with a peaceful study vibe. In hostels, rooms are decent in size and cleaned regularly. The mess food is average, but good. We will love the canteen, but it has more variety and better taste. For recreation, there is a sports ground, table tennis, and even gym facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members here are quite experienced and supportive. Most of our professors are approachable and clear in their teaching, especially when it comes to core subjects. The course curriculum is fairly updated and includes lab work that helps us understand industry basics. I feel more real-time industrial exposure could be added. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty. If we attend classes and prepare well, it's manageable. The pass percentage is generally high, which allows us to stay consistent.
Other: I chose Electrical course because it offers strong career opportunities, and RNSIT has decent placement support, especially with core companies visiting occasionally. Our college should improve the internship opportunities and provide more hands-on industrial training. Overall, it's a good place to build both academic knowledge and technical foundation.

R.N.S. Institute of Technology has good placements, and we can build our careers.
Placements: At R.N.S. Institute of Technology, placements are very good. Each student has been placed based on their skills and other activities. The placement coordinator helps students to get placed and identifies which skills are helpful to get a job with higher packages.
Infrastructure: At R.N.S. Institute of Technology, the infrastructure is good. Each department has its own blocks. The electric labs, CAED lab, and computer lab are available. The library is the main place where all students study or research in their free time. A lot of books are available in the library.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful. They are good at teaching skills. They explain in detail for the examination and for our knowledge. They also help in our research. They guide us to learn and make projects related to anything based on students' interests.
Other: In R.N.S. Institute of Technology, the EEE department has proudly launched a student branch chapter of the Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS), marking a significant achievement. Chapters provide students with exposure to advanced technologies in aerospace and embedded systems. I'm satisfied with the experience inside the college campus and facilities provided.
Placements: 30% of students got placed. Usually, for electrical and electronics courses the highest package offered is 6 LPA-8 LP. Top recruiters are from Toyota, Cipla, and many other companies. Most of the students have got internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: Students here are provided with excellent facilities. Good hostel, food, and canteen facilities are provided. The college library is a well-equipped and resource-rich hub of academic activity. It offers a quiet, comfortable environment conducive to focused study and research. Well-maintained classrooms and the college auditorium are a central venue for cultural events, seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and official ceremonies. It is a spacious, well-designed facility with modern acoustics and lighting systems that enhance the experience of every performance or event held there.
Faculty: The faculty at our college is a blend of experienced educators and young, dynamic professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentorship. Most professors are well-qualified, with advanced degrees in their respective fields, and several have significant industry or research experience. They are approachable and supportive, always willing to clarify doubts and guide students both academically and professionally. Many faculty members use modern teaching aids, including smart boards and digital presentations, to enhance classroom learning.
Other: The college encourages a well-rounded student life through a variety of extracurricular activities and cultural events. Annual college fests are a major highlight, bringing energy, creativity, and student spirit to the forefront. These events feature inter-collegiate competitions, cultural performances, technical exhibitions, sports meets, and fun-filled informal events. From dance and music to debates, hackathons, and art exhibitions, students get ample opportunities to showcase their talents beyond the classroom. Departments often organize their fests and symposiums, promoting subject-specific engagement and healthy competition.

It has a well-equipped campus with good placements, but scope for academic improvement.
Placements: About 85 percent of students get placed via campus drives. The highest package offered is 12 LPA, and the lowest package is 3 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Bosch, L&T, and Wipro. 70 percent of students get internships at DRDO, Bosch, TCS, and L&T. Top roles offered in our course are developer, embedded, analyst, design, and automation.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available in our course/department are Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, well-equipped labs, and a library. The hostel has clean rooms, 24x7 water, and good maintenance. The quality of food in the mess and canteen is hygienic, with balanced meals and vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. There is an on-campus clinic with first aid. It has a tie-up with a nearby hospital. It has sports and games facilities like cricket, football, indoor games, and a gym.
Faculty: Teachers are experienced and supportive. They provide clear concepts with a practical approach and good delivery. The course curriculum is relevant and updated as per industry trends. It makes students industry-ready with hands-on labs and projects. Semester exams are of a moderate level with proper preparation. The pass percentage is around 85-90 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in tech, and it has a strong career scope. The best things about our course are practical labs, placements, and skilled faculty. More industrial visits and live projects should be improved. Tech fests and cultural events are held yearly. The campus crowd is friendly, diverse, and collaborative. It is well-connected by road, rail, and the nearby city. The campus surroundings are green and peaceful, with a student-friendly environment. Merit-based and government scholarships are available. It has extracurricular activities like clubs, sports, workshops, robotics, and hackathons.

This college has proper security and a very good environment.
Placements: Placements are comparatively good in our department. We got good reviews from seniors regarding placements. Currently, the highest package is 6.84 LPA. Companies that visit our colleges are Texas Instruments, Accenture, Wipro, etc. Our department is also arranging many programs regarding placements.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well-maintained, clean, and organised. It is spacious with good seating arrangements. There is an availability of projectors in each classroom. Labs are well-equipped with tools and machines. Assistances are available to explain and clear doubts regarding experiments. There is a well-maintained library which includes a lot of books.
Faculty: Lectures in our department are experienced and highly qualified. They are very friendly and helpful. They clarify our doubts at any time. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. It's not that difficult to get pass marks in the semester-end exams.
Other: I am not interested in the software field, so I chose this field. I am interested to learn concepts behind the electrical and electronics field. It should conduct more workshops so that students improve their practical knowledge even more. The college campus is well-established and maintained. The college organises many events and fests so far.

The college infrastructure can be better, and the lab has old electronic equipment.
Placements: RNSIT has provided excellent placements over the years. As an AEEE student, more job offers are from IT, and fewer are for core opportunities. Top recruiting companies are Adobe, TCG, Capgemini, Infosys, and many more. Around 75% of students get placements. Overall, branches like CSE, ISE, and AIML have better opportunities.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure can be better. The campus is over 200 acres, but the college is spread only over 10 acres. Still, the campus is good to explore, it has a cool amphitheater and 2 grounds for fests, sports, and events. Hostel is costly, around 1.4 lahks per year, but the food is good, they provide only vegetarian food.
Faculty: Exams are under VTU. VTU manages all the external exam processes. As of 2025, our college is now autonomous. As a VTU student, VTU's scheme of evaluation is a bit unfair, they rarely consider giving good marks to students. But once it has been autonomous, it's not the case now.
Other: Fests are conducted very rarely, only once a year.

A place worth studying core engineering courses.
Placements: Placement training is given to everyone irrespective of their department. The fundamentals of computer languages are taught, which increases the chances of placement for all. Training sessions begin immediately after the 5th-semester exams, and during the 6th semester, two complete days a week are dedicated to rigorous training and assessment.
Infrastructure: The library is very helpful, whether for sitting and studying for exams or for expanding your knowledge base. The food provided in the canteen is worth the cost. In EEE, there is a dedicated computer lab with a Wi-Fi LAN connection available for conducting branch-specific lab courses.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and are always available to clear doubts. They not only teach what's in the syllabus but also demonstrate how concepts can be applied in real-time. Timely visits to industries and sessions conducted by inviting industrial experts are a regular part of every semester.
Other: The fests are something everyone looks forward to each year. The college supports the Cultural Activity Team in organizing these events. Sports, NSS activities, and other club activities are conducted extensively to bring out the best in interested students.
