Why RV? Because we are we.
Placements: As I'm from the Biotechnology branch, most of the students opt to go to higher studies rather than sit for placements. Even for students who want to get into a good company, they can sit for placements. In our branch, companies like Merck, Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre, etc., have been tried with the department for better compatibility. Along with that, students can also sit for IT jobs, and the average salary package ranges from 7-12 LPA, with the highest going up to 16 LPA as per last year.
Infrastructure: The college has a good library and a decent campus, but when it comes to classrooms, they are now updating with digital equipment for better learning. Talking about the laboratory, it is also kind of decent, not that great. But overall, the campus is good for students and has 3 food canteens and 2 student areas for any discussions, one ground which is suitable for playing football, cricket, etc. Departments also have different libraries for each department with books for reference.
Faculty: Teachers and staff are really helpful and come up with different strategies for making us understand things. They don’t insist on us being in class all the time; classes are held in the amphitheatre as well as in the auditorium. All courses in the curriculum are very much relevant for what we need to ace things in the future, like anything related to Masters and placements. Semester exams are quite tough as they involve more applying of what you have studied.
Other: I have taken Biotechnology because I like the Biology subject, and the best thing is that they not only teach Biotechnology but also other subjects like management courses to have a brief knowledge about what happens in daily life. Events and fests happen every two years; trust me, they will be the biggest in the city.

It is a good and well-managed college.
Placements: The biotech branch mainly focuses on R&D, so placements for core companies are less. We need to focus on the higher studies part than the corporate part. Even though biotech is an emerging field, opportunities for it in India are comparatively less.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good and student-friendly. The library is great to study. Mess and canteen are good, but canteens are not that hygienic. Each department has its own Wi-Fi, and a password and ID are given to each student so that they can use the Wi-Fi facility.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, but all of them are not that student-friendly. Other than that, they are well-versed in their field of interest. The course is highly relevant and very interesting. It makes students ready for the industry.
Other: I have chosen this course since I wanted to pursue the field of biology. I tried for MBBS, but as I couldn't get a seat, I had to go for this. Extracurricular activities are very good.

4 years of graduation days.
Placements: The entire batch was satisfied with the recruitment and the provided roles. Companies like Amazon, eBay visited the campus. MNC like Accenture, CTS offered mass recruitment. One of the student for an internship in facebook with a stipend of Rs 90,000.
Infrastructure: The college has the best biotechnology lab, with highly maintained equipments, specimens, samples. All the branch had a separate building with good infrastructure and ample space area for parking, sports. We had amphitheatre for street plays, refreshment.
Faculty: We had the best facilities in biotech and other branches. We were imparted full support and guidance throughout the college life. Apart from the facilities, the lab assistance were very helpful that helped us to gain hands on experience in the biotechnology domain.

It is a good college with decent people.
Placements: Several companies have visited the campus for biotechnology like Accenture, Byjus, ZS, L&T information, Infosys, Cognizant. But very few core companies like Wrig Nanosystems, Quintiles Ims have visited the campus. Also, the college has a policy that only companies above 3 LPA are allowed so that way it is good. The placements are good in the college, and the highest was that of Adobe (for computer science and IT) which was about Rs. 48 LPA and the lowest was of Infosys which was about Rs. 3.15 LPA.
Infrastructure: There is a Wi-fi facility on the campus and has a manageable speed for the browsing but is slow for downloading. The labs are in okay conditions with moderately standard lab equipment. There are also sports facilities present for various sports like cricket, basketball, badminton, Table tennis and even judo. The food was of decent quality but not stale.
Faculty: The faculty know the recent trends and technology. They are highly helpful when it comes to research and projects. Real-time examples are used while teaching course subjects and also the course curriculum offers a good knowledge and skill development.
Other: It is a good college with students from different cities. The environment of the campus is friendly and helpful which teaches us a lot of skills especially managing people and events. The cultural fest is fantastic with a great coordination and teamwork which enhances the learning skill and also promotes an environment where different ideas can be shared and implemented to achieve excellent results.

Overall, the college has a good environment with all the facilities.
Placements: I'm still pursuing my engineering so as far I know placement is cent percent. Most of the leading companies come for recruiting the fresh graduates. The committee gives training for placement. It is the best college in south India. If you are seeking for good college, then it's best for you.
Infrastructure: R.V College is spread over 51-acres and 607.02 square feets, i.e. 21.30 hectares. The total built-up area is 85360 square kilometres with all amenities. Ramps and lifts are provided to help different abled and sick. 90 percent of the classrooms are provided with multimedia projector and internet connection. All academic blocks have secured Wi-Fi connectivity.
Faculty: The department of biotechnology was started in the year 2002. Now, conducts one undergraduate program and two post-graduate programs (M.Tech in biotechnology and M.Tech in bioinformatics) with academic autonomy and PhD program with the affiliate to VTU. A total of 20 experienced faculties, support four core specialisations (nanotechnology, omics, environmental, and bioinformatics) in the department.

Not compulsorily rather, you need to have biology as a compulsory subject for pursuing biotechnology. But the criteria could differ from college to college. Some may ask for maths as an addition but not compulsion. So you can go for biotechnology even if didn't have maths. P.S: Choose a college very
