B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2026
5.0
The college has excellent infrastructure and supportive faculty, with good placements.
Placements: RSET maintains a strong placement record with a rate of 64-95% in recent years. For B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, approximately 60-70% of students get placed each year. The highest package is 8-10 LPA, while the lowest is 3 LPA. Top companies include TCS, Cognizant, Mindtree, and IBS Software. Top roles offered are design engineer, production engineer, and quality engineer.
Infrastructure: RSET has excellent infrastructure with Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms and well-equipped labs, including Mechanical Measurement Lab, Heat Engine Lab, and Fluid Mechanics Lab. There are several seminar halls for academic activities. The campus has a medical centre with at least a nurse and medical staff. There are multiple outdoor courts for basketball, football, tennis, and a cricket ground. The canteen food is above average. The institute offers hostels for both boys and girls. Rooms are well-maintained and cleaned regularly. They are of two types, two-sharing and three-sharing. The food in the hostel mess is also above average.
Faculty: Most faculty members are well-educated and qualified. Many with PhDs or pursuing them. Overall teaching quality is good. Since the institute became autonomous in 2020, there is a focus on industry-oriented and relevant topics. This ensures that the students are industry-ready and equipped for the future. The semester exams are a bit challenging but manageable with consistent effort. The pass percentage varies around 70-95% depending on the course or branch.

Good infrastructure and facilities but bad management.
Placements: The placements start in semester 6. Based on available information, about 30 to 40% of students get placed every year from the mechanical department. The main companies that visit for mechanical engineering opportunities are Toyota and Royal Enfield.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities provided by the college for learning are really good. All the labs and other teaching facilities are well-maintained. However, the quality of the canteen and its food has declined this year, with food prices continuously increasing.
Faculty: The faculty in the mechanical department are very good at teaching but can be very rude to students. Faculty in other departments are generally very good. The curriculum set by Rajagiri is well-structured and easy to learn, but the exam question papers during the end-of-semester exams are significantly more difficult compared to the university papers.
Other: The main reason I chose mechanical is because I like machines and similar things, but I realized mechanical engineering is way more than that, so don’t choose engineering just because you want a degree. Choose it only if you’re ready to dedicate your time and effort to the course. Also, Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology is not the kind of college that goes easy on you.

Good faculty and good facilities.
Placements: A good percentage was achieved, and students were placed in so many companies. The top recruiting companies are Bosch, MRF, etc. I don't know the highest, the lowest, or the average package offered in this course. I believe that at least half of the students received internships from the Cochin Shipyard.
Infrastructure: Good infrastructure, labs, and classrooms are environment friendly. I am a day scholar and don't know about hostels or mess food. Canteen food is so good. Good medical facilities are there, and students can play sports and games on sports day. Overall, it is a good college.
Faculty: The faculty is so helpful with the need for studying and all. The teaching is so good. The semester exam, as we know, is a little bit difficult but can be passed if we study well. The pass percentage of this course, I think, is 50 and above. Overall, good teachers are there.

If you are looking for a friendly, tension free campus life, you are wrong.
Placements: Top recruiting companies include MRF, goodrej, Royal Enfield, Bosch. For a mechanical engineer student in RSET unless you have a high CGPA, chances of getting a core job is dim. Even the top recruiting companies do not take any students from the batch sometimes, whereas there is scope in IT companies as they take a lot of students from mechanical.
Infrastructure: The infrast is pretty standard and all classrooms are equipped with projectors. Labs contain plenty of machines is one of the biggest labs the college could have. Hostel has 3 sharing and 2 sharing rooms. 3 sharing rooms has common bathroom whereas 2 sharing has attached bathroom.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are well qualified and possess the gift of teaching, but others are mediocre or they care only about finishing the portions. Curriculum does not make you industry ready. As they follow KTU curriculum, its old and outdated. Semester exams are pretty tough and you would be able to pass if you have touched all the modules.
Other: Events happen but the college do not support unlike other colleges. Extra curricular activities include IEEE, IEDC etc.

It is a good place for learning.
Placements: Many IT companies visit our college every year. It is situated close to Infopark too. So there are plenty of opportunities to get placed in the IT sector. Core companies visit the campus and pick just a handful of students from the respective branches. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is top-notch. The institution keeps adding new and the latest technologies on the campus. Labs are well-maintained and up to date. It is a great place to learn, and it offers amazing facilities for the same. Hostels have Wi-Fi with good food and accommodation.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are great. Some faculty members are PhD holders in every branch. The course curriculum is outdated, and a student will have to do extra learning on the side by themselves to truly stay up to date with the current breakthroughs in the engineering field.

Absolutely I had a great experience, and there are all the facilities to have a great life.
Placements: Almost 95% of the students who are eligible to participate in placements have been placed in very good companies from our college. Most of them have been provided with more than 1 job offer to choose from. Top recruiters here are Bosch, Mitsubishi, MRF, etc. The highest salary package offered here was around 7 LPA-8 LPA, and the average salary package offered was around 3.5 LPA-4.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: It is the best college in Kerala, and there are all essential labs and spacious classrooms. There are both department libraries and common libraries with a lot of collections of books. Our college has a spacious canteen, good food, superb football ground with grass, cricket ground maintained by KCA, tennis court, badminton court and three hostel buildings. The most recent hostel building is sprawled over more than 10 floors.
Faculty: All the teachers here are highly qualified, and most of them have completed their PG from IITs and prestigious NITs. They are also very helpful and very friendly. Most of them are pursuing their PhD, along with teaching. The course curriculum is provided by the university. It can be improved.

The college has a good infrastructure with only successful engineers.
Placements: Almost 80% of the students got placed, but not in the mechanical branch. Only less than 2% of the students got placed in the mechanical field. I am not really aware of the salary package offered but somewhere around 3.5 LPA to 7 LPA is offered. Bosch is the top recruiting company. I don't know much about the roles offered. Internships are provided through our college, but external internships are undertaken by students.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi facility, but it's there for staff members. The college has one of the finest infrastructures. The library collections are good. Many good investments were made for the library to accumulate world-class journals. The campus is spacious with all required amenities for a student. Food can be awarded an average quality but not the best.
Faculty: Faculty members here are qualified and excellent. Overall, the teaching quality is good. They can arrange some workshops and classes for the teachers to enhance their level as well. But I haven't observed such thing, and I'm not really sure. The course curriculum is the worst. Some of the technology is dead as of now. Still, they teach, and the practical stuff is really less.
Other: Diversified entry to different jobs is the main advantage of our course. I have chosen this course for no reason as I didn't have any mentoring from anyone in choosing the course. Practical knowledge should be more as well as more interaction. Events and fest are really less and feel dull. They concentrate more on studies, nothing else. It's a cliche trait of a private college. Campus crowd is good.

The college has the best infrastructure in Kerala.
Placements: Many companies are visiting our college to offer placements, and the majority are IT companies. According to 05/19, around 745 students have bagged placement offers. The college provides several foreign internships with the guidance of the professor. Around 80% of the students got placed from college.
Infrastructure: The college has one of the best infrastructures among the colleges in Kerala. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Medical facilities are available with a full-time nurse and a doctor. There is a central library as well as a separate library for each department. There is a huge football pitch, cricket grounds tied-up with Kerala cricket association, basketball court, tennis court, cricket nets, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are well educated and experienced in their field of teaching. The college offers different academic courses like B.Tech (computer, IT, mechanical, instrumentation, EEE and ECE), M.Tech courses, PhD courses. For further details about the courses, you can visit the college website.
Other: The college organises various cultural and technical fests. It also provides scholarships to various category students. There are also many foreign immersion programs as well as exchange programs to Australia, etc.
