What is Percentile Score in MHT CET

Percentile scores are scores based on the relative performance of all the students who appear for MHT CET across all shifts. To calculate the percentile score, the marks obtained out of 200 are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of aspirants.

In simple terms, percentile score indicates the percentage of candidates that have scored Equal or Below a particular percentile in a particular shift.

Why Result in Percentile and Not in Percentage

MHT CET exam is conducted in multiple shifts spanning around 15-20 days. The candidates are given different sets of questions in every shift and it is quite possible that the difficulty level of question papers given to students in different shifts may vary in terms of difficulty level. In order to overcome such a situation, normalization method and percentile score is calculated to ensure that candidates are neither benefitted nor disadvantaged due to the difficulty level of the examination.
