BITSAT 2024 syllabus is now available online at bitsadmission.com. Through the BITSAT syllabus 2024, the candidates will be able to get more information regarding the subjects, units, and topics that they will have to study for the entrance examination. As per the syllabus of BITSAT 2024, the candidates will have to study topics from five subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning. If the candidates are opting for BPharma admissions, they will have to attempt the Biology section, instead of Mathematics. Before commencing the preparation process, the candidates are advised to check the official BITSAT syllabus. Knowing the syllabus will help candidates with the preparation strategy for BITSAT. The authorities have released the BITSAT 2024 syllabus. It is to be noted that the BITSAT syllabus will be similar to the 11th and 12th standard syllabus. BITSAT 2024 Logical Reasoning Syllabus

This section of BITSAT 2024 is designed to judge the candidate's reasoning abilities in verbal and nonverbal areas. A candidate who is able to think logically, perceive the data accurately, understand the relationships correctly, figure out the missing numbers or words, and apply rules to new and different contexts will be able to score well in this section.

Topics

Verbal Reasoning

  • Analogy: Analogy means correspondence. In the questions based on analogy, a particular relationship is given and another similar relationship has to be identified from the alternatives provided.
  • Classification: Classification means to assort the items of a given group on the basis of certain common qualities they possess and then spot the odd option out.
  • Series Completion: Here series of numbers or letters are given and one is asked to either complete the series or find out the wrong part in the series.
  • Logical Deduction: Reading Passage: Here a brief passage is given and based on the passage the candidate is required to identify the correct or incorrect logical conclusions.
  • Chart Logic: Here a chart or a table is given that is partially filled in and asks to complete it in accordance with the information given either in the chart/table or in the question.

Nonverbal Reasoning

  • Pattern Perception: Here a certain pattern is given and generally a quarter is left blank. The candidate is required to identify the correct quarter from the given four alternatives.
  • Figure Formation and Analysis: The candidate is required to analyze and form a figure from various given parts.
  • Paper Cutting: It involves the analysis of a pattern that is formed when a folded piece of paper is cut into a definite design.
  • Figure Matrix: In this, more than one set of figures is given in the form of a matrix, all of them following the same rule. The candidate is required to follow the rule and identify the missing figure.
  • Rule Detection: Here a particular rule is given and it is required to select from the given sets of figures, a set of figures, that obeys the rule and forms the correct series.

This section has questions that measure the above-mentioned abilities such tasks as detecting missing links, following directions, classifying words, establishing sequences, and completing analogies.

Q:   What is the exam pattern for BITSAT?

A:

The authorities have released the official BITSAT 2024 exam pattern. BITSAT is conducted as a computer-based test and the total duration of the examination will be 3 hours. During the exam, the candidates will have to answer 130 multiple-choice questions about various topics from Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency, Logical Reasoning and Mathematics/ Biology. For every correct answer, the candidates will be awarded 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Candidates are advised to check the official exam pattern of BITSAT before commencing their preparation progress.

 

Q:   What are the BITSAT additional questions?

A:

The authorities will allow the candidates to answer additional questions, if they are able to complete the 130 questions the BITSAT paper before the duration of the examination ends. There will be 12 additional questions that the candidates will be able to attempt within the remaining time. It is to be noted that the additional questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology sections and Logical Reasoning sections. From each subject, 3 additional questions will be prepared. Candidates who attempt the additional questions will not be allowed to go back and correct their previously answered 130 questions.

 

Q:   What is the marking scheme of BITSAT?

A:

BITS Pilani have announced the marking scheme along with the BITSAT 2024 exam pattern. For every correct answer, the candidates will be awarded 3 marks. However, if the candidate marks the wrong answer, then 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions. Before the examination, the candidates are advised to carefully check the marking scheme, so that they are aware of how they will be marked for their answers. Since there is negative marking, the candidates are advised to leave the questions unattempted, if they are not sure of the answers.
