AP ECET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education has released the AP ECET eligibility criteria at the official website. AP ECET 2025 eligibility is released separately for all the courses.
General eligibility criteria to appear for AP ECET
- The candidate should be an Indian.
- The candidate should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh.
- Should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
- The candidates should possess a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh State or any other Diploma recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent to that for admission into the relevant BE/ BTech/ B.Pharmacy courses into the Courses corresponding to the Diplomas.
- They should have passed the 3-year BSc Degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the group combination from a recognized University in the state or its equivalent for entry into relevant courses.
- The candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course shall be eligible for entry into the relevant BE/BTech/B.Pharmacy courses provided they have completed the practical training prescribed for the award of diploma course before admission into the college.
- The candidates should have passed a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy/ BSc Degree with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) for entry into relevant courses.
According to the official authorities, the candidates will have to secure a minimum aggregate 25% in the four subjects to obtain a rank in Andhra Pradesh ECET. In simpler terms, the candidates are expected to obtain minimum 50 marks out of the total 200 marks to qualify the entrance exam and be eligible for the counselling and admission process. However, there is no minimum qualifying marks to rank the candidates belonging to the SC/ST category. Regardless of their marks, they will be allotted a rank and will be eligible for the counselling process.
Candidates who do not qualify Andhra Pradesh ECET or fail to secure the required marks will not be eligible to participate in the counselling and admission process. The authorities are also expected to not accept any requests for review of scores. Unqualified candidates will have to attempt Andhra Pradesh ECET in the next year for another chance of admissions into the courses offered by the participating institutes. If the candidates wish to apply for the next year, then they are advised to commence their preparation process early so that they are well-prepared for the exam.
Eligibility for Lateral Entry Admission into BE/BTech/BPharm
- The candidates should have appeared and qualified at the AP ECET 2025.
- Mere appearance at the Entrance Test does not automatically entitle a candidate to be considered for entry into any course unless the candidate satisfies the requirement of eligibility and other criteria laid down in the rules of admission.
- Admission offered against 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be unreserved seats as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
- The admissions offered under the lateral entry scheme in the case of Un-Aided Private Professional institutions (Minority & non-minority) are 20% over and above the sanctioned intake into the course. In the case of University Colleges, the lateral entry seats are 10% over and above the sanctioned intake into the course.
- While filling up the lateral entry seats based on the AP ECET 2025 ranks, BSc (Mathematics) stream students will be considered for admission only after exhausting all the qualified diploma holders.

AP ECET Application Form 2025
Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education has released the AP ECET 2025 application from at the official website. Applicants can complete AP ECET registration 2025 at cets.apsche.ap.gov.in/ECET. The application process of AP ECET 2025 comprises registration, filling form, uploading documents and payment of fee. AP ECET form 2025 is available online only. The last date to fill AP ECET form 2025 is April 7.
There may be cases when the candidates are not allotted centres in their first preferred exam city. This may be due to the unavailability of seats in the preferred Andhra Pradesh ECET exam centre or the lack of candidates that has led to its cancellation. However, the candidates will be allotted as per the order of preferences. Therefore, the authorities will allot the candidates an exam centre in their second preferred city.
