CSAB 2026 Counselling Special Round Seat Allotment Result

CSAB 2026 Seat Allotment Result: The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will release the CSAB Round 1 allotment result on August 6 at csab.nic.in. The candidates will be able to check the allotment under their respective logins, which can be accessed using the JEE Main 2026 application number and password.

Check the steps below to check the seat allotment result:

  1. Go to the official website of CSAB counselling 2026 - csab.nic.in.
  2. Now look for the seat allotment link on the home page.
  3. On accessing the link, the login page will open.
  4. Enter the JEE Main 2026 application number and password.
  5. Under the login, candidates can check the seat allotment.

This counselling round is for admission to supernumerary seats in the following NITs:

  • NIT Calicut
  • NIT Durgapur
  • SVNIT Surat. 

After CSAB Special Round Allotment - Willingness Options

Check the willingness options below available for candidates who get a seat in CSAB special round:

  • Freeze: Candidates satisfied with the allotted institute and branch can select the Freeze option. This confirms the seat, and the candidate will not be considered for any further upgradation in the next special round.
  • Float: Candidates choosing Float will accept the current seat while remaining eligible for an upgrade to a higher preferred choice in Special Round 2. If no better seat is allotted, the current seat will remain with the candidate.
  • Slide: Under the Slide option, candidates can be considered for a better programme within the same institute, provided a higher preferred branch becomes available in the next round.
  • Surrender: Reject the current seat but stay in the counselling process to try for a better seat in the next round. (Not allowed in the last round).
  • Withdraw: Cancel the allotted or accepted seat. The candidate completely opts out of the remaining counselling process.
  • Exit: Only available if a candidate did not get any seat in the CSAB rounds and holds no other seat in the JoSAA/NIT+ system. This means a candidate does not wish to participate further.

Fee Payment After CSAB Counselling Allotment 2026

Candidates who get a seat in CSAB Special Round 1 have to pay IAF-II. Check below the applicable fee to be paid after seat allotment:

SC/ST/PwD INR 16,000
  • Mode of payment: Debit card / UPI / Credit card / Net Banking / E-Challan / CSC

Note that candidates who secured admission in the NIT+ System by paying both the SAF and Partial Admission Fee (PAF) are exempted from paying IAF - II.

What Can Cause the Cancellation of CSAB 2026 Seat Allocation

The following situations may result in the cancellation of a candidate's allotted seat in CSAB counselling:

  • Failure to respond to any raised queries will lead to seat cancellation, which will be considered a rejection of the offer, and the candidate will forfeit eligibility for admission to any institute through CSAB 2026.
  • Non-payment of IAF - II.
  • If any documents or certificates are found to be invalid or fraudulent, or if the candidate fails to meet any of the eligibility requirements, the seat will be cancelled.

How is the CSAB Special Round 2026 Seat Allotment Done

All registered candidates are allotted seats in each round of CSAB according to the CSAB 2026 choice filling they have done and their JEE Main AIR. The seat allotment process in CSAB takes into consideration the following factors:

  • Ranks of JEE Main
  • Choices filled by the candidates
  • Seats available
  • Category of the candidate
  • Gender of the candidate

All vacant seats available in the CSAB seat matrix are allotted transparently via the CSAB seat allocation process based on ranks, category (such as General, OBC, SC, ST, etc.) and reservation rules.

If you are OBC candidate then you can

1) Fill JoSSA — try for NIT Manipur/Nagaland/Mizoram in Civil or Mechanical

2) Participate in CSAB — extra chance

3) Don't skip state counselling — OBC quota there can be very beneficial

4) Apply to NSUT/YMCA — placements rival many NITs
