CSAB Eligibility Criteria

CSAB Eligibility Criteria 2026

CSAB Eligibility Criteria 2026: The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) conducts CSAB counselling, and it is of three types - NEUT counselling, special round counselling and the Supernumerary round. Out of all these rounds, the most important and the most sought-after round is the CSAB special round, because this round deals with the allotment of seats which remain vacant after JoSAA counselling for the NIT+ system (NIT, IIITs and the GFTs).

NEUT round is especially for candidates from North-Eastern (NE) States and Union Territories (UTs) and to allocate seats across degree-level technical institutions approved by AICTE, Universities for North-Eastern (NE) States and Union Territories (UTs).

The Supernumerary is only for candidates from Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and for admission to supernumerary seats in NIT Calicut, NIT Durgapur, and SVNIT Surat.

2) Participate in CSAB — extra chance

3) Don't skip state counselling — OBC quota there can be very beneficial

4) Apply to NSUT/YMCA — placements rival many NITs
