CSAB 2025 Special Round Allotment - Downloading 'Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip'

A candidate who has been allocated a seat needs to download the “Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip”, which has information regarding the Seat Allotment and steps to be followed for seat confirmation by the candidate. The candidate MUST proceed for online reporting after they have downloaded the 'Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip'.

  • Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip will be available under the respective logins of the candidates.
  • Download the Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip and keep it safe.

CSAB 2025 Special Round Allotment - ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’, ‘Float’, ‘Surrender’, or ‘Withdraw’

After each CSAB special round allotment, candidates have to decide on the allotted seat. They need to select whether they want to freeze the allotted seat or they want to opt for better options. To do so, candidates can exercise the below available options after each CSAB special round allotment:

Freeze

Action: Choosing the option “Freeze” means that the candidate accepts the offered seat and indicates that the candidate is content with the allocated academic program and that the candidate does not want to participate in further rounds of seat allocation while retaining the same seat.

Outcome: Such candidates will NOT be considered in subsequent rounds of seat allocation, if any. Their chosen seat shall remain allocated to them and shall be provisionally confirmed.

Float

Action: Choosing the option “Float” means that the candidate accepts the offered seat and indicates that, if an academic program of higher preference in any Institute is offered in subsequent rounds of seat allocation, the candidate will accept it. Else, the candidate will continue with the currently accepted academic program.

Outcome: Such candidates will be considered in subsequent rounds of seat allocation, if any.

Slide

Action: Choosing the option “Slide” means that the candidate accepts the offered seat and indicates that, if an academic program of higher preference is offered within the same Institute in subsequent rounds of seat allocation, the candidate will accept it.

Outcome: Such candidates will be considered in subsequent rounds of seat allocation, if any.

Surrender

Action: Candidate REJECTS the allotted seat and wishes to participate in the next Round of seat allotment. Hence, the allotted seat will be cancelled. Allotment in the next round will be considered from the choices higher than the surrendered seat. The candidates who have already secured a seat by paying PAF at the end of JoSAA 2025 rounds and have participated in CSAB-Special seat allocation process 2025 can also exercise the ‘surrender’ option.

Outcome: In such a case, the candidate will lose the seat irrespective of whether she/he had secured the seat in JoSAA rounds or CSAB-Special rounds. ‘Surrender’ option will not be available in the last round of seat allocation.

Withdraw

Action: Candidate REJECTS the allotted/accepted seat and does not wish to participate in subsequent rounds of seat allotment. Hence, the allotted/accepted seat will be cancelled irrespective of whether the seat was accepted during JoSAA rounds or it is allotted/accepted in CSAB-Special rounds.

Outcome: The candidate will be out of the seat allocation process, i.e., she/he shall not be considered for subsequent rounds of seat allocation, if any.

CSAB 2025 Special Round Allotment - Uploading Necessary Documents

Candidates with willingness option Freeze/Slide/Float are required to upload the necessary documents on their CSAB-2025 portal. This step does NOT apply to candidates whose documents have already been verified in NIT+ System successfully during JoSAA-2025 Rounds 1–6, and for candidates who have exercised the willingness option SURRENDER or WITHDRAW.

Candidates are required to upload the documents as given below:

  1. Class X Mark Sheet/Certificate or Aadhaar Card or Birth Certificate (for Date of Birth)
  2. Class XII Mark Sheet and Certificate (Qualifying Examination)
  3. Admit card of JEE (Main) 2025
  4. Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable, as per Government of India format, available on the JoSAA 2025/CSAB 2025 website, issued by the competent authority.
  5. Original Certificate for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD), if applicable, issued by the competent authority. Refer to JoSAA 2025/CSAB 2025 website for format.
  6. Original Certificate for persons having less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing, if applicable [in the format provided in the Information Bulletin of JEE (Main) 2025, issued by the competent authorities listed in the Information Bulletin of JEE (Main) 2025.
  7. Crossed Bank Cheque copy / Image of Passbook with bank account details.
  8. Medical Certificate (in specified Format available on CSAB-Special 2025 information brochure, Annexure-8)
  9. OCI certificate/ PIO card, if applicable
  10. Passport/Citizenship certificate, if applicable

CSAB 2025 Special Round Allotment - Paying IAF-II

The candidate MUST pay the IAF-II for continuing with the CSAB Special seat allocation process to avail the seat in NIT+ System. The documents uploaded by the candidate will not be verified unless the candidate pays the IAF-II. At the time of online reporting, the candidates have to remit the IAF-II only in the round in which the seat is allotted for the first time. Non-payment of the IAF-II is one of the ways to reject the offered/allocated seat and will be treated as a rejection of the allocated seat by the candidate. In such a situation, the candidate will no longer be able to participate in the seat allocation process in the subsequent rounds, if any.

CSAB Counselling 2025 Fee Payment After Seat Allotment

After seat allotment, if the candidate exercises the willingness option Freeze/Slide/Float and has uploaded all the required documents, she/he MUST pay the IAF-II using Debit card / UPI / Credit card / Net Banking / EChallan / CSC.

Category IAF-II
GEN/GENEWS/OBC-NCL INR 35,000/-
SC/ST/PwD INR 16,000/-

Important: Payment of IAF-II is mandatory irrespective of whether the candidate has chosen ‘Float’ or ‘Slide’, or ‘Freeze’ option

CSAB 2025 Special Round Allotment - Responding to Queries

At the time of document verification, if the document verifying officer raises any query, the candidate must respond in online mode (through candidate portal) within the stipulated time. Failure to respond to the query(ies) on time will lead to cancellation of the allotted seat, and the candidate will no longer be able to participate in the subsequent rounds of CSAB-Special 2025, if any. It is the responsibility of the candidate to check the online portal at regular intervals of time and respond to queries (if any) without fail within the stipulated time. No separate intimation will be given to the candidates.

Failure to successfully reply to the query(ies) raised would lead to seat cancellation and would be considered as rejection of the offer, and the candidate would have forfeited eligibility for admissions to any of the institutes through CSAB-Special 2025.

With rank under 50,000, you can target CSE/ECE in newer IIITs (Kalyani, Dharwad), core branches in top NITs (Jalandhar, Bhopal), and tech branches in GFTIs (JNU, BIT Mesra).

Yes. CSAB retains the Home State (50% quota) and Other State (50% quota) categorisations for NITs, just like in JoSAA.

CSAB cutoffs are usually lower or higher in rank (i.e., less competitive) than JoSAA cutoffs.

NIT Raipur sees its final BTech vacancies filled during the CSAB rounds in late July or early August. These rounds start only after the regular JoSAA process is completely finished. It is a fast-paced process that lasts for about a week. You must act quickly to upload documents and pay fees if you g

If you are OBC candidate then you can

1) Fill JoSSA — try for NIT Manipur/Nagaland/Mizoram in Civil or Mechanical

2) Participate in CSAB — extra chance

3) Don't skip state counselling — OBC quota there can be very beneficial

4) Apply to NSUT/YMCA — placements rival many NITs
