IIT-BHU student makes AI-based yoga platform to help you perform asanas the right way
A student of the Indian Institute of Technology-Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU) has developed the first version of artificial intelligence (AI) based yoga platform through multiplayer yoga gameplay (MPYG) which will demonstrate the correct way to practice yoga.
Vidyabhushan, a chemical engineering third-year student at the IIT-BHU, has built the platform with mentorship, funding from NASSCOM Foundation, Cisco Thingcubator and technical support from the NCL-IIT BHU Incubation Centre.
Vidyabhushan said, “MPYG is an innovation in the field of yoga. It is an AI-based and augmented reality-based platform for community yoga. The programme is intended to make people choose yoga keeping health-related factors in mind, and it aims at guiding them in the right direction. Audio-visual features will demonstrate the correct way to practice yoga.”
Its auto-detection feature will not only detect your incorrect posture, but it will correct it with video and audio assistance using artificial intelligence.
NASSCOM foundation head Ramana Vemuri expressed happiness over the student’s achievement and congratulated the team, and assured them of all possible help in future.
International Yoga Day is observed every year on June 21, as mandated by the United Nations, to highlight the importance of the practice -- defined as "physical, mental, and spiritual" at the same time -- in helping people lead a healthier lifestyle. The first Yoga Day celebrations were held in 2015 at Raj Path in New Delhi and Modi, along with other dignitaries, had created two Guinness World Records.

A good IIT JAM rank would differ depending on the category, branch and round. For the General AI category, the overall cutoff ranged from 328 to 507. IIT BHU JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 ranged from 601 to 7870 in the first round for the OBC AI category. In the last round, the closing cutoff ranged from 601 to 9002 for the aforementioned category. Check the table below to know the Round 1 and last round closing cutoffs for different courses.

IIT BHU CSE cutoff 2026 ranged from 1436 in the first round to 1439 in the last round for the General category under the All India quota. Hence, a rank of at least 1439 is needed to qualify for admission to the CSE course. Check the table below to know the overall cutoff range for other categories.

No, if you do not belong to the reserved categories. For this category, students should have scored at least 60% marks in class 12.
For the unreserved categories, it is 75% minimum marks for admission to the IITs, IIITs, NITs and GFTIs. Students should only apply for the JoSAA counselling process if

Yes, if you belong to the General AI category and are seeking admission to a BTech course at IIT Varanasi, it is possible to get admission with a JEE Advanced cutoff rank of 7000. Based on the Round 1 cutoff, the below BTech branches are possible for admission among the General category.

No, direct admission isn't possible. IIT does not offer management quota admission or direct admission; aspirants need to appear for JEE Advanced and go through JoSAA counselling to secure a B.Tech seat at IIT (BHU) Varanasi.
