JEE Advanced Application Form 2026: Registration Date, Eligibility, Fees, How to Apply, Documents Required

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Nationals and OCI/PIO Candidates who have Secured OCI/PIO Card Before March 4, 2021:

• Performance in JEE Mains: Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in BE/BTech paper of JEE Main 2026. The percentages of various categories of candidates to be shortlisted are 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining 40.5% is OPEN for all. Within each of these five categories, 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.

• Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2000. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, i.e. these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1995.
• A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. Read all details on JEE Advanced 2026 attempt limit.
• A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2026 with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
• A candidate should NOT have been admitted to an IIT irrespective of whether or not the candidate continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting “online” / at a “reporting centre” in the past.

Who is Eligible to Register as Foreign National or OCI/PIO Candidate in JEE Advanced 2026?

Check who is considered as a Foreign National and OCI/PIO candidate in JEE Advanced below:

Foreign Candidates:

• Candidates who are NOT citizens of India (by birth or naturalised) (but not Overseas Citizens of India / Persons of Indian Origin (OCI/PIO) candidates who have secured OCI/PIO card on or after 04.03.2021) shall be considered as FOREIGN NATIONALS.
• The foreign national candidates, at the time of registering for JEE (Advanced) 2026, are NOT required to write JEE (Main) 2026 and may register for JEE (Advanced) 2026 directly subject to fulfilment of other eligibility criteria mentioned below.
• All foreign national candidates will be considered in addition to, and not as a part of the 2,50,000 Indian national candidates who qualify for appearing in JEE (Advanced) 2026.
• All the seats allotted to foreign national candidates will be supernumerary, with a cap of 10% of the total number of seats in every course. These candidates are outside the ambit of reservation of seats under the GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD categories/sub-categories as specified in the Information Brochure of JEE (Advanced) 2026. There are no separate supernumerary seats or sub-categories for females in the foreign national supernumerary seats.

OCI/PIO Candidates:

• As per the decision dated February 03, 2023, passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition (Civil) 891 / 2021, the OCI/PIO candidates who have secured OCI/PIO cards after 04.03.2021 shall be considered foreign nationals and have to fulfil all the eligibility criteria applicable to any foreign national.
• As per the decision dated February 03, 2023, passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition (Civil) 891 / 2021, the OCI/PIO candidates who have secured OCI/PIO cards before 04.03.2021 shall be considered as Indian nationals and have to fulfil all the eligibility criteria applicable to any Indian national.

The JEE Advanced 2026 admit card is issued only to those candidates who complete the application fee payment. Check the details of the application fee payment below:

• Payment by Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking/UPI: Once the candidate clicks “Pay Registration Fee”, the system will present multiple payment gateway options. As per the candidates' convenience, they may select any of the payment gateways and options like Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking/UPI. After successful payment, the candidate will be able to print the “Registration Details” with the UNIQUE Registration number.

List of Documents needed by candidates who dropped out between November 5 and November 18, 2024

1. A letter duly stamped and signed, from the Head of their Institution (Dean/Principal/Director), as per the format given in the updated JEE Advanced 2026 information brochure.
2. An affidavit duly stamped and attested by a notary public, on a nonjudicial stamp paper of INR 10 as per the format given in the updated JEE Advanced 2026 information brochure. The affidavit should be of the candidate if she/he is more than 18 years of age. If the candidate is less than 18 years of age, the affidavit should be given by her/his parent or legal guardian.
3. Withdrawal letter/notification issued to the candidate from her/his college/university/institute.

Here are some issues that you may face while filling the JEE Advanced 2026 application form:

Error in document upload: Check the instructions carefully before uploading any documents in the form.

Payment failure: The application fee payment is very common. Do not worry if the fee is submitted but the form is not submitted, you will get a refund.

Website issues: If the JEE Advanced website shows a timeout error, then wait for a few hours and try applying again. Keep saving the form details after a few steps. This will save your progress and you will not lose any data.

What to Do if Forgot JEE Advanced 2026 Registration Login Details (JEE Main application number and password)

The JEE Main 2026 application number and password are needed to login and fill out the JEE Advanced application form. Therefore, the candidates must know these details. In case these details are not available or candidates have forgotten them, here is what to do:

JEE Main password: how to remember?

There is an option to reset the JEE Main password if you have forgotten it on the official website of JEE Advanced. Here is what to do:

• Click on the forgot password option in the JEE Advanced candidate portal.

• Choose one of the options given therein.

• Fill the details asked as per the option chosen

• The password will be sent to the candidate.

The PwD candidates who are visually impaired, OR dyslexic (severe) OR have a disability in the upper limbs OR have lost fingers/hands, thereby preventing them from properly operating the Computer Based Test platform, may avail the services of a scribe.

PwD candidates who desire to avail of the services of a scribe need to opt for this during the online registration of JEE Advanced 2026.

Note that: The scribe will help the candidate only in reading the questions and/or keying in the answers as per the directions of the candidate. A scribe will neither explain the questions nor suggest any solutions.

How to avail a scribe: To avail the services of a scribe, the candidate should request the Chairperson, JEE (Advanced) 2026, of the nearest Zonal Coordinating IIT in the prescribed format (FORM-SCRIBE). The requisition, along with a copy of the PwD certificate (FORM-PwD [II/III/IV, whichever is applicable]) OR a copy of the certificates of Dyslexic Candidate (FORM- DYSLEXIC 1 and DYSLEXIC 2), whichever is applicable, must be uploaded at the time of online registration for JEE (Advanced) 2026.
