SSC CHSL Salary 2025: The Commission announced 3,131 vacancies for LDC/JSA and DEO. The salary or pay scale was mentioned in the official notification released by the authority on the official portal at ssc.gov.in. The SSC CHSL 2025 salary depends upon the various factors including place of posting, Dearness Allowance (DA) fixed by the Government of India and other allowances such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), travelling and other allowances. 

The SSC CHSL exam for Tier 1 was conducted from November 12 to 30, 2025 at various centres across the country. The SSC CHSL post and its salaries provide a decent beginning to a long career. SSC CHSL Salary - Perks and Allowances

 The CHSL salary is one of the most important factors that motivate candidates to apply for the exam. In addition to that, the candidates are entitled to the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) for Medical Consultation purposes and Central Government Hospitals for surgery-related issues. Travelling Allowance is the other allowance which is attractive for the candidates. 

The SSC CHSL 2025 exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO). The SSC CHSL pay scale and salary structure for each post is different. The SSC CHSL notification 2025 mentions the pay scale and the pay level for each of the posts to be recruited under the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level (CHSL) Examination 2025.

SSC CHSL exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the posts shared below.

SSC CHSL posts are Central government jobs and hence the candidates selected for this post will be eligible for the following allowance as applicable for all the central government employees. The list of allowances is given here-

SSC CHSL Salary - Dearness Allowance (DA)

Dearness Allowance is provided to the central government employees to compensate for the cost of living. It is dependent on the average value of the Consumer Price Index (CPI). DA is calculated as per the formula given below.

Dearness Allowance payable with effect from 7th CPC Basic Pay  = (Avg of CPI-IW for the past 12 months – Average of CPI-IW recorded in 2015)*100/(Average of CPI-IW recorded in 2015)

SSC CHSL Salary has been increased with the decision of the Government of India to increase the DA to 50% recently. It is a Central government job and the candidates joining these jobs are entitled to five days working in most cases. 

SSC CHSL Salary - House Rent Allowance (HRA)

House Rent Allowance is the allowance paid for the housing facility to the employees. HRA is dependent on the geographical place of posting. The cities in India were classified into X, Y and Z categories as per the recommendations of 7th pay commission. The classification of cities were made as per the following chart.

SSC CHSL Salary - Travelling Allowance (TA)

Travelling Allowance is the allowance paid for travelling in the city of posting. It also varies with the place of posting. TA is calculated as per the following chart.

SSC CHSL Salary - Leave Travel Concession (LTC)

The candidates are also entitled to the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) once every three years where the selected candidate is entitled to the reimbursement of train tickets purchased for travelling to any destination in India. SSC CHSL salary is revised every ten years after the recommendation of the pay commission constituted to recommend the salary structure of the Central Government Employees.

Data Entry Operator is a unique position in the CHSL exam because some of the posts under this position fall in Pay Level 4 and Pay Level 5.
