SSC Stenographer result 2025 for CBT has been released at ssc.gov.in. The result PDF is available here. SSC Steno result PDF has the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Based on the CBT result, candidates are shortlisted for the Skill Test.

To see SSC Stenographer result, go to SSC official website. Find out "Results" section and then press on “Steno 'C' & 'D'” tab. For Grade C or Grade D, download result PDF. After downloading it, open PDF and press “Ctrl+F” to search for your Name or Roll Number.

The official SSC Stenographer cut off is released along with the result on the SSC website in PDF format. SSC Stenographer cut off is decided by SSC based on:

SSC Stenographer cut off varies for posts Grade C and D. SSC Steno cut off marks are calculated based on the difficulty level of the exam. Recruitment of candidates is done based on the number of vacancies. Candidates need to qualify each stage.

The SSC Stenographer Exam is conducted to recruit candidates for posts of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’) in government organizations. Exam is conducted in stages including Computer-Based Test and Skill Test.

The post of SSC Stenographer falls under the Central Government. Candidates for Stenographer Grade C can expect basic salary of INR 14,500 while SSC Stenographer Grade D can expect a basic salary of INR 7500.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC Stenographer Exam annually to select candidates for Grade C and D Stenographer positions. The selection process comprises CBT and Skill Test. The notification is released every year by SSC.

Documents required to fill SSC Stenographer application form are mobile number, Email ID, admit card and marksheet of Class 10, photograph and signature. The application form can be filled online only. Fee can be paid online.

Candidates can edit/modify the application parameters through the application correction window. Candidates will be allowed to re-submit applications after making requisite corrections/changes in the one-time registration/online application data as per their requirements. The Commission will levy uniform correction charges of INR 200 for making correction and re-submitting modified/corrected application for the first time and INR 500 for making correction and re-submitting modified/ corrected application for the second time. The correction charges will be applicable to all candidates irrespective of their gender/category.

In this section, candidates get questions from Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, and its correct usage, etc. Besides, the section tests a candidate’s writing ability.

SSC Stenographer syllabus for General Intelligence and Reasoning is given below.

There are negative marking for wrong answers in the exam. 0.25 marks are deducted for wrong answers in SSC Stenographer exam. For correct answers, candidates score one mark.

The minimum percentage of marks for qualifying in the SSC Stenographer Computer Based Examination will be as under:

Unreserved Category: 30%

OBC/EWS: 25%

All Other Categories: 20%

The Computer Based Test of SSC Stenographer comprises three sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension. The General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness sections carry 50 questions each while the English Language and Comprehension section comprises 100 questions. Total marks allotted to General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness sections are 50 each while the English Language and Comprehension section carry 100 marks. Candidates will be given two hours to complete the exam.

In the skill test, candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi which they need to type at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m for Stenographer Grade D post.

Candidates need to carry any one of the following photo-identity proof along with the admit card. The photo-identity proofs that candidates can carry are given below:

• Driving License
• PAN Card
• Passport
• School/College ID Card
• Employee ID Card (Govt/PSU/Private)
• Any other photo-bearing ID card issued by Central/State Government

SSC Stenographer admit card can be downloaded by clicking the required link. Select the admit card tab on the home page. Candidates need to enter registration ID/roll number/candidate’s name and password. The admit card appears on the screen. Download and save it.

SSC Stenographer admit card is not sent to candidates by post. Students have to download the admit card online. To download the admit card, candidates need to enter the required credentials.

A total number of 2006 Vacancies have been announced for the posts of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’, Non Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’) in various Ministries/Departments/Organizations.

In 2023, a total of 1114 vacancies were announced for Stenographer Grade D exam and 93 for Stenographer Grade 'C' exam. The vacancy break-up is given below.

The complete selection process of SSC Stenographer is explained below:

Release of application form: SSC Stenographer application form is released online. The application fee is INR 100, Women and Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with disability (PwD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) candidates are exempted from fee payment.

Issue of admit card: SSC Stenographer admit card is released online on the respective regional websites of the commission. Candidates can access their admit cards by logging with registration ID/roll number/candidate’s name and password. 

Computer-Based Test: This is the first stage of SSC Stenographer Grade C & D. The computer-based test is conducted for all candidates who successfully register for the exam. The exam comprises three sections, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. The total marks for the test are 200.

Declaration of result: SSC Stenographer result is declared online for different stages of exams. The result is made available in PDF format. It displays the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Along with the result, SSC Stenographer cut off marks for various posts and categories are also released. 

Skill Test in Stenography: This stage is conducted for the shortlisted candidates of the computer-based test. Candidates are given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi. Candidates need to type the dictation at the speed of 100 words per minute for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m for the post of Grade D.

The process to fill the SSC Stenographer application form cmprises-Register with SSC by entering the tequired details, login to fill the detailed application form, pay the fees and submit the form. Candidates are not required to send the hard copy of the application form.

SSC Stenographer notification was released on June 6 2025. The notification was released in PDF form. It comprises details related to exam. Candidates must read the notification before applying for exam. Selection process of SSC Stenographer exam comprises CBT and Skill Test.

SSC Stenographers Salary 2025 is categorised into Grade C and Grade D, with monthly payments determined by the 7th pay commission.
