Yes, a candidate who has completed Class 12 from Science stream (or any other stream) from a recognised board is eligible to apply for BA English Literature.
The candidates who have completed Class 12 from Science and Commerce stream must know that the study of English Literature is different from the study of technical or numerical subjects. Therefore, you may have to develop your literary and analytical skills.
Some colleges may allow only those candidates who have studied English as a main subject in Class 12.
You can pursue MA English if you have completed a 3 year general BA. As long as you pass from a recognised university with at least a 45% score. Students must study English in their 12th grade as it is very important to have foundational reading and writing skills in English to pursue the MA English course.
