The University of Delhi is accepting Common Universities Entrance Test for PG 2023 for admission to its three-year LLB courses. The application forms for DU LLB through CUET PG 2023 is available online from March 20 onwards. The last date of DU LLB application 2023 through CUET PG is April 19. Candidates can visit the official website - nta.cuet.nic.in. To apply for DU LLB admissions 2023, candidates must also check the eligibility criteria mentioning academic qualification, marks, and age limit as prescribed by the NTA. DU LLB 2023 Eligibility Criteria - Academic Qualification 

To be eligible for DU LLB admissions through CUET PG 2023, candidates should have education qualification as under: 

  • Candidates should have obtained an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in any stream (other than law) from University of Delhi or equivalent university or institute. 
  • Those appearing or awaiting results of their qualifying degree can also apply for DU LLB through CUET PG 2023, however, they must provide a marksheet to prove their qualification at the time of admission (DU LLB) counseling. 
  • The candidates belonging to Unreserved/ EWS/ OBC categories should have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of the qualifying degree examinations. 
  • Those belonging to PWD/ ST/ SC category should have obtained 45% marks in the qualifying degree from these categories will be eligible for DU LLB 2023 admissions. 

There can be relaxation in minimum marks requirement for the qualifying degree but it will be confirmed only at the time of DU LLB counselling

Candidates belonging to reserved categories i.e.  OBC/EWS/PWD/SC/ST will have to provide documents for their claim at the time of DU LLB 2023 counseling. If they fail to provide any proof as issued by a competent authority then their admission will be canceled owing to ineligibility for DU LLB admissions 2023.

DU LLB Eligibility Criteria 2023 - Age limit 

For LLB admissions to the three-year LLB course at DU, there is no age limit for the applicants. The candidates can apply irrespective of their age as mentioned by the DU Faculty of Law. 

The website stated, “There is no age bar to appear in the exam as per the order of Supreme Court of India”

Age restrictions have been removed from legal education rules in India as per the Bar Council of India circular issued in 2016.

DU LLB 2023 Eligibility Criteria - Conditions for disqualification 

The university has mentioned that candidates will be disqualified from DU LLB admissions 2023 if:

Q:   Can I take admission in DU MBA without CAT?
Q:   What is the criteria for admission to MCom at DU?
  • They have already completed an LLB degree from any other university or law school in India 
  • They are pursuing an LLB degree from any other university or law school in India 

As mentioned in the admission brochure, “No candidate who has passed LL.B course from any University shall be allowed to take admission. No candidate on the rolls of LL.B of any university shall be allowed to take admission in the LL.B course unless they get their admission cancelled.”

The final merit list for DU LLB 2023 admissions will be based on entrance exam scores, cut off percentile, category-wise ranks, and eligibility criteria. All the shortlisted candidates will have to submit their documents pertaining to academic eligibility and category to claim seat reservation at the time of counselling.

Q. Who is eligible for DU LLB?

A. As per the eligibility criteria of DU LLB 2023, candidates should be graduate (any stream) with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade. As per the eligibility criteria for DU LLB through CUET PG 2023, following candidates will be eligible for admissions: 
  • Those holding a bachelor degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade if belonging to General (UR)/OBC/EWS categories 
  • Those who fall under SC/ST/PwBD category should have secured at least 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade from a recognized university.

Q. Is there any relaxation in DU LLB eligibility criteria 2023?

A. Yes, for SC and ST categories, there is a relaxation of 5% qualifying marks i.e. they need to have 45% marks in the qualifying degree. 

Q. What degree is eligible to apply for DU LLB 2023?

A. DU LLB 2023 eligibility does not mention any particular qualifying degree or stream that makes a candidate eligible to apply. All graduates can apply for DU LLB entrance exam 2023. 

Q. When will DU LLB 2023 forms be available?

A. The DU LLB forms 2023 is available through CUET PG as released on March 20, 2023. Candidates can apply for CUET PG 2023 for admission to DU LLB course.

Q. Can I apply for DU LLB after passing Class 12?

A. No, since DU LLB is an entrance exam for three-year LLB course, those who have just passed Class 12, first need to obtain a bachelor degree of three-year duration. The best option to study law after Class 12 is by enrolling in a five-year Integrated LLB course. 

Q. Is there any age limit for DU LLB?

A. No, the age limit criteria for admission to law courses in India, has been removed by the Bar Council of India. Therefore, candidates can apply for DU LLB irrespective of their age, as DU follows the bar councils guidelines for law courses.
