NLAT 2020 Test-Taking Instructions - Technical requirements, exam timings and reporting

The National Law School of India University, Bangalore will be conducting its law entrance test - NLAT 2020 on September 12. The entrance exam scheduled to be held in a Remotely Proctored Test mode will begin from 12:00 pm with reporting time for the first shift of the day. The exam authority has shared all the details of technical requirements along with the mock tests on its official website. Here we have listed must-haves and exam day instructions for NLAT 2020 candidates to follow before, during and after the exam. 

Technical Requirements for NLAT 2020 

Since the exam will be held in a Remotely Proctored Testing mode, it is important that candidates have all the necessary things for taking the examination. The following things mentioned by NLSIU Bangalore as compulsory for NLAT 2020:

Supported Devices: Desktop computers, laptop computers, and Android mobile devices (phones and tablets) only. 

Operating System:  Window 7 or above (Windows 10 recommended), Mac OS 10.13 and above, and Linux (ubuntu versions 18.04, 16.04, 15.04 only) systems. For Android Devices, Android version 6 and later would be the best.

Minimum Internet Bandwidth: 512 Kbps minimum

Besides, candidates should also ensure that pop-ups are blocker is disabled on your testing systems. Moreover, the webcams or camera is enabled for proctoring. The testing system's javascript must also be enabled. Candidates can not use wired/ wireless headphones/ earphones or any other audio devices during the exam. 

Reporting and Exam Requirements for NLAT 2020

The candidates have to report to the exam proctor as per the schedule by clicking on the link shared through email. The exam reporting timings are as under:

NLAT UG Batch 2 1.45 pm 2:15 pm to 3:00 pm
NLAT UG Batch 3 3:30 pm 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm
NLAT PG  5:30 pm  6:00 pm to 6:45 pm

Before starting the exam, candidates should check the network connection, browser updates, pop-up blockers, camera permission and, Cache to ensure smooth functioning during the exam.

Moreover, candidates should sit in a quiet and well-lit room where they are audible and, their face is clearly visible. Candidates are allowed to keep a water bottle beside them, however, any kind of eatables is not permitted. 

Candidates should avoid recording the test-screen and, any kind of cheating practice as it will be proctored live. Besides, they should undergo the following exam integrity principles as under:
