Panjab University, Chandigarh will be conducting the undergraduate law entrance exam also known as PU UGLAW for admissions to BA LLB and BCom LLB courses. The entrance test is scheduled to be held on April 27, 2025 in paper-based test mode. Candidates appearing for PU UG LAW 2025 will be attempting 100 questions in 1 hour 30 minutes duration. The question paper of PU UGLAW 2025 will be mainly based on four subjects – General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Mental Ability, English Language and Aptitude for Law. Candidates appearing for the exam should prepare for each section of PU UGLAW 2025 according to the subject knowledge and weightage. PU UGLAW GK and Current Affairs section
This is the highest weighted and easily scoring section in PU UGLAW 2025. Candidates should prepare for past years current affairs and general awareness topics as under:

- UN bodies
- Eminent personalities in sports, science, technology, politics, business world etc.
- Awards and honours
To prepare for GK and Current Affairs, candidates should:
- Gather study material based on past year’s events and general knowledge
- Follow news channels and papers for breaking news and, national-international significance
- Prepare at least 5-10 topics every day by making notes and practicing questions on them
- Make separate notes for general awareness topics and current affairs
- Learn the GK facts by making notes as well as, taking online quiz tests

Candidates can prepare for Law Aptitude section by:

PU UGLAW Mental Ability section
The section Mental Ability is designed to test a candidate’s logical and analytical reasoning skills. The questions are based on cognitive skills as the topics include:
- Directions
- Critical Reasoning
- Syllogism
- Series
- Blood Relations
- Analogy
Many candidates find the Mental Ability section to be tough; however, they need not worry as they can score well in this if right techniques are applied. Moreover, the section is a low weightage part of PU UGLAW 2020, therefore candidates should aim to practice and score well in this section as under:
- Clarify concepts at least 2-3 topics per day and practice questions sufficiently
- Make notes on the topics and, find correct techniques to solve these time-taking questions
- Study Data Interpretation based questions and practice questions on them on a regular basis
- It is important to reach logical conclusions in this section for each topic as no question is based on mere gut feeling
- Often, decision-based questions where statements-conclusions are given get confusing, therefore, learn the tricks to find the correct answer
- It is better to practice mental arithmetic for this section to get answers quickly

The section carries 10 marks and, is based on common English syllabus as under:

Therefore, to score well in this section, candidates should:
- Read on a regular basis and learn new words and their meanings
- Practice comprehension based questions at least 4-5 every day
- Learn the grammar, common errors to avoid etc.
- Take mock-tests after clarifying the concepts from books

PU BA LLB and PU BCom LLB Admit Card will be available for downloading from the website by the candidate using his/her own Login ID and Password. The candidates will be communicated through email only for this purpose. Please note that candidates will not receive the admit card through the post.
