Commonly asked questions
Q:   What is MH CET Law Normalization Method to calculate scores?
A:

Normalization process is an established practice for comparing candidate scores across multiple shift papers. There are possibilities of different level of difficulties in each shift for the same exam, however to tackle this scenario, the Normalization Method will be used to calculate the MH CET Law 3-year and 5-year LLB results.

Step 1: Candidates would be distributed into four sessions randomly so that each session has approximately equal number of candidates. Suppose: Session-1: Day-1 Batch 1 (D1-B1), Session-2: Day-1 Batch-2 (D1-B2), Session-3: Day-1 Batch 3 (D1-B3).

Step-2: The examination results for each session would be prepared in the form of Raw Scores.

Total Percentile (TP) = 100 X No. of candidates appeared from the session with raw score equal to or less than T1 score

Total No. of Candidates appeared for the session

Step-3: The Percentile scores for the Total Raw Score for all the four sessions (Session- 1: Day-1 Batch 1-1, Session-2: Day-1 batch-2 and Session-3: Day-1 Batch-3 as calculated in Step-2 above would be merged and shall be called the CET Percentile scores which will then be used for compilation of result.

The Percentile of all four sessions will be calculated separately for the total raw score.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   What is a good MH CET Law score?
A:

Generally those who score 90 and above have more chances of getting admission into one of the best law colleges in Maharashtra.

Q:   Is 70 a good score in MHCET Law?
A:

Getting 70 marks in MHT CET is seen as an average score. It mostly comes around 82 to 86 percentile, depending on which shift you wrote the exam in. With this score, you can still get seats in some good private or mid-level state engineering colleges, but it's tough to get into top ones like COEP or VJTI. It's not really a high score, but it stays above the basic eligibility line and gives you fair options. Still, if you aim for 120+ marks, it's safer for strong branches like CSE or IT, where the competition stays high every year.

Q:   How is MH CET Law 2026 score calculated?
A:

For MH CET Law 2026, you get +1 mark for every right answer, and there's no negative marking if you make a mistake. After that, your marks go through a normalization process using the percentile method so that all shifts stay fair for everyone. The final MHCET Law score is shown as a percentile, not raw marks, and it's usually displayed up to seven decimal places for accuracy.

Factor Affecting MH CET Law College Allocation 2026

Previous Year Cut-offs: Checking previous MH CET Law cut-offs helps you guess what score might be safe this time. It’s not always right, but gives a close idea.

Performance of Candidates: When most students do well, the cut-off marks go up. If many find the paper tricky, the cut-off usually drops down.

Institutional Preferences: Some law colleges under MH CET Law CAP 2026 have their own rules or preferences. That can decide who gets a seat first.

Quota for Other States: Certain seats are kept for students from outside Maharashtra. This other state quota can slightly change the MH CET Law 2026 merit list.

General Knowledge (GK) is often said to be the hardest part of the MH CET Law exam because it's wide, changing, and not easy to predict. Current affairs are usually simpler to handle, but the static GK part that includes history, geography, and legal topics becomes tough for many students.
