FTII JET Stage 2 Preparation Tips
How to Prepare for FTII JET Stage 2? The second stage of FTII JET exam is a Mixed Format Assessment. For this stage, selected students from FTII JET stage 1 are called at FTII, Pune Campus for interview round. Stage 2 includes Screen Acting and Screenwriting. It tests students based on their practical and analytical skills, performance and interaction. There is no ideal start time for FTII JET Stage 2 preparation, as some might take more time than others to improve their skills required for this exam. FTII JET 2026 exam will likely be conducted in July 2026. Candidates who will be selected in both stages will be able to participate in further selection process of FTII JET.

FTII JET entrance exam is conducted in 2 stages. Stage 1 icludes Paper 1 (MCQs) and Paper 2 (Descriptive). FTII releases marking scheme for Stage 1 Paper 1 exam only. Check below for FTII JET marking scheme for Paper 1.
- +2 for every correct answer
- -0.5 for every incorrect answer
- 0 for unattempted questions
The FTII JET exam total marks are 100 marks. In Part A of Paper I: one mark is awarded to each right question and 0.25 is deducted on the wrong answer. In Part B of Paper I: two marks are awarded to each right question. However, the questions may have one or more right answers, so candidates need to select all the correct options, failing which they will be given partial marks. This part also has the provision of negative marking.

FTII JET Stage 2 Syllabus
There is no fixed FTII JET syllabus for Stage 2. It includes an interview where the judging panel tests a student's suitability for the selected course. The interview usually includes Screen Acting and Screenwriting based tasks.

Yes according to the exam pattern of the Film and Television Institute of India, there is negative marking in the exam. As part of the negative marking, -0.25 marks alloted to the question in Paper I of FTII JET will be deducted. The paper 1 will be objective type in nature hence candidates must mke their answer choices wisely.
According to the official notification of the Film and Television Institute of India, the FTII JET question paper will have two sections for Film Wing courses while there will be three sections for the Television Wing. Candidates planning to take the FTII JET exam are advised to go through the detailed FTII JET 2024 exam pattern to understand the detailed exam pattern and prepare for the exam in an efficient way.
As per the official notification, candidates seeking admission into FTII, Pune and SRFTI, Kolkata will have to go through the following process.
- FTII JET entrance exam - It includes two stages - Stage 1 & Stage 2. Stage 1 further includes two paper - I & II. Stage 1 is written test and Stage 2 is interview round.
- FTII JET Result - FTII will release list of selected candidates.
- Seat Acceptance - Selected candidates have to pay seat acceptance fee to secure a seat.
- Document Verification - Eligible candidates have to get their documents verified by campus.
- Medical Test - Selected students will have to undergo medical test for final selection.

To prepare and score well in FTII JET stage 2 exam, candidates must keep below points in mind.

About FTII JET Exam
FTII JET is a national level entrance exam, conducted by Film and Television Institute of India for admission to postgraduate, and postgraduate diploma and certificate courses at FTII, Pune and SRFTI, Kolkata based on JET scores. With FTII JET scores, candidates can get admission to courses in Film and TV Wing. The FTII JET 2026 exam is expected to be conducted in July 2026 for stage 1 and September 2026 for Stage 2. The result for stage 1 is released soon after the exam is conducted. Only candidates with their names in FTII JET merit list for first stage are eligible to appear for FTII JET stage 2 exam.
FTII JET Stage 1 result carries 30% weightage and Stage 2 carries 70% weightage on the overall result of a candidate.

No, a candidate cannot fill FTII JET application form offline. The Film and Television Institute of India releases JET registration form in online mode and candidates have to fill and submit the same in online form only. No offline application form will be accepted by FTII for entrance exam.
