Vellore Institute of Technology offers MBA courses for a duration of 2 years. Candidates are required to pay the course fee for both the years. Here is a quick overview of year-wise VIT MBA fees and scholarships offered.

VIT MBA Fee 2025: Vellore Institute of Technology releases the MBA fees every year with the admission notification. The admission notification hosts the VIT MBA fees for two years separately, along with the caution deposit. Candidates have to pay a caution deposit along with the VIT MBA fees in the first year. The caution deposit is refundable once the candidate completes the VIT MBA program.

VIT MBA fees across all campuses will remain the same. However, the fee may vary across different admission sessions at VIT, Vellore. Scroll down for an overview of VIT MBA fees along with the scholarships offered and the VIT MBA fee refund policy.

Q:   What are the CAT exam slot timings?
A:
CAT exam is held in three slots for the past three years. Earlier it used to be held in two slots of three hours each, but since 2020 it is held in three slots of two hours each. The three slots are conducted between 8 am to 4 pm. The first slot is held from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, the second slot is held from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm and the third slot is held from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. In these three slots, about 2.22 Lacs candidates are accommodated at over 400 test centres in about 150 plus cities across India. The exam slots are allotted to candidates by the examination authorities as per the receipt of applications and candidates cannot request for change of examination slot. They have to give the test in the slot mentioned on the admit card.
Q:   What are the dos and don'ts for CAT exam day?
A:

On CAT exam day, candidates have to follow a number of guidelines like cooperating with the exam centre staff during identification process, etc.:

CAT exam day dos:

  1. Reach examination centre at the reporting time mentioned on your CAT admit card. 2.
  2. Carry two copies of the CAT admit card, one photo ID card, passport size photos
  3. PwD candidates should carry relevant certificates and documents. 
  4. Carry a blue/black ball point pen for signing attendance sheet 
  5. Cooperate with test centre staff and follow instructions 
  6. 7. While entering answers, use only computer mouse.
  7. Do not touch keyboard as doing so will lead to screen locking.

CAT exam day don'ts:

  1. Do not carry items such as bags, purses, pencil box, beepers, wrist watch, calculators, mobile phones, electronic devices, scanners, cameras, wireless/Bluetooth transmission or any such communication devices.
  2. Don't wear closed shoes, jewellery made of metal, jackets, clothes with pockets, mehendi on palms. Socks are allowed inside it.
  3. Don't wear caps, hoodies or jackets/shirts with pockets 
  4. Don't be late for exam. Entry gates will be closed 15 minutes before the commencement of exam. 
  5. No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre after that.
  6. Don't cheat or indulge in mal practice. You can be disqualified due to any such ACT.
  7. Don't create a ruckus inside the test lab
  8. Don't leave your seat until the exam duration gets over and the invigilator announces exit.
Q:   What is meant by NMAT retake window?
A:
GMAC conducts NMAT with a aspirant-first approach. Candidates can appear for NMAT three times during one exam session. That means, GMAC provides one main attempt and two retake attempts for the NMAT exam. The meaning of retake of the NMAT exam implies that any applicant can attempt the test thrice, including the first attempt. In other words, the process of reappearing for the exam is known as exam retake. Candidates aspiring for a retake attempt have to apply using the NMAT retake window. However, candidates can reappear for the exam, not before 15 days after the first attempt. Similarly, third exam attempt can only be scheduled on a date 15 days after the second attempt for NMAT exam.

NOTE:

  • In the second year of the MBA degree course, VIT will collect an alumni fee and a consolidated mark sheet fee of INR 5,500. This fee is non-refundable.
  • The caution deposit will be refunded once the candidate completes the VIT MBA course.
  • As soon as the seat is allotted into the MBA programme, candidates are expected to pay INR 1,00,000 as the advance fee. The remaining fee of 2,51,500 can be paid until the specified date for final admission.

Scholarships for VIT MBA Program

VIT offers MBA scholarships based on the candidate’s performance in different entrance exams. The table below mentions the scholarship for VIT MBA admission:

VIT MBA Fee Refund Policy

The space below mentions the fee refund policy as per the UGC guidelines. VIT follows a fee refund policy as designed by UGC. The guidelines state that a processing fee of not more than INR 1000 can be deducted in case of 100 per cent refunds. Q:   What is the procedure to retake NMAT exam?
A:
Retake option for the NMAT exam is available in the candidate's existing registration account after the first attempt. The option to retake the test is present in the Retake tab in the dashboard of the candidate account. Candidates have to wait 15 days before retaking the NMAT exam again. It is subject to payment of the application fee. Candidates can retake the NMAT exam twice during the test window. That brings total attempts in one exam session to three. To apply for each attempt, candidates have to pay the application cum exam fee. Besides applying for retake, candidates who wish to take only one attempt can also do so. In such cases, the available score will be sent to the selected colleges.
Q:   How can applicants know about the time slot and date of NMAT exam?
A:
The date, time slot and exam venue will be printed on the NMAT admit card. It is a chain of the process; first, the candidate will have to schedule the test using the 'schedule test' option available under the exam tab on the candidate dashboard in NMAT by GMAC account. The test scheduling option will be available after they have received a confirmation email from the exam conducting authority about the receipt of the NMAT application fee. Candidates can then choose the date and time slot of the test as per their convenience for NMAT by GMAC exam. The facility to book date and time slot along with the selection of preferable locations of the test centre is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Q:   What are the items/documents to carry on the MAT exam day?
A:
On the MAT exam day, PBT and CBT candidates have to visit the examination centre well prepared. Apart from carrying two hard copies of the MAT admit card, they need to also carry a photo ID proof issued by the Government of India. The documents that are included in the list of approve IDs are: 1. Aadhaar Card 2. PAN Card 3. Voter ID Card 4. Passport 5. Driving License 6. University ID Candidates have to carry the original copy of any of these IDs to the exam centre for identification process. IBT mode candidates are also required to present any of these IDs for identification to remote proctored mode. Candidates belonging to PwD category have to carry PwD and scribe certificates too on the exam day. Any candidate suffering from any medical condition which requires them to eat or have medicine during the exam, has to carry a Certificate regarding the same issued by a competent authority. Apart from the documents, candidate are required to carry blue/black ball point pen for signing the attendance sheet and filling the OMR sheet (PBT mode). No other stationary item will be allowed inside the MAT exam centre.

No, candidates can not get direct admission in VIT Vellore. The college provides an admission process to students on the basis of an entrance exam for the majority of the courses. Some of the popular national-level entrance exams accepted by the college are NATA, GATE, CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, etc.
