VIT University is currently conducting VITEEE 2026 counselling in phases. As of now, the phase I and II seat allotment results are out. Complete schedule for counselling is now available. However, if a student is not willing to take admission to VIT campus, then they can apply for VITEEE 2026 withdrawal process and claim for a refund. VITEEE 2026 Fees: Types and Refund Stats

During VITEEE admission process, before paying confirmation or advance tuition fee, students must note the following-

VIT Fee Refund Policy of Tuition Fee as per UGC Guidelines 

Once a candidate clears VITEEE 2026 and participates in the counselling and secure a seat, they have to pay an advance fee to confirm their admission. The VIT advance fee is nothing but a partial amount of the tuition fee required to book your seat for allocated branch, course, and category. 

However, if a candidate later chooses to withdraw their admission, they can do so but within the guidelines. VIT university aligns its VITEEE refund policy with the standard guidelines set by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The percentage of the VITEEE course fee refunded depends entirely on when they formally submit their withdrawal request relative to the formally notified last date of admission. Candidates can check the instructions for the VITEEE Tuition Fee Refund Policy below -

How to apply for VIT fee refund: Withdrawal Process

Candidates must note that VIT does not accept withdrawals on call or informal emails. To process or apply for VIT admission cancellation or fee refund, candidates have to raise a withdrawal request at VTOP login. The refund amount are calculated as per UGC guidelines and AICET norms, based on the date of withdrawal.

How to Withdraw and Get a Refund?

To apply for a VITEEE 2026 fee refund, candidates can follow the steps mentioned below -

• Go to VIT freshers portal and login using credentials

• Then search for withdrawal or fee refund option in the dashboard.

• Enter your bank details, such as account number, IFSC code, account holders name, and bank branch. Ensure that all details match the parent’s or students ban account.

• Submit the online withdrawal form. Keep a screenshot or PDF receipt of VIT fee cancellation confirmation.

• Once approved, the VIT refund fee amount will be credited directly to the source account within 15 to 30 working days.

• The VIT refund facility is expected to open after all round of counselling completed at the VIT freshers portal.

VIT Hostel Fee Refund Policy

Candidates can also request a VIT hostel fee refund. However, the criteria and instructions are different compared to the admission process, which can be checked below -

• If a student decides to leave the hostel facilities within 4 months of the academic session starting, then 10% of the hostel fee is deducted per month. The remaining balance is then refunded to the students bank account. 

Candidates can apply for the VIT hostel fee refund at freshers portal itself. 

VITEEE Fee Refund Policy for Failed Eligibility Criteria

VIT is strict with their VITEEE eligibility norms and students are strictly scrutinised based on that. Hence, the following VIT refund policy is implemented for not meeting the eligibility criteria-

• If a student loses their seat due to failing to meet minimum class 12th PCM aggregate (which is 60%), a fee refund is processed, but only after deducting administrative fees. 

Thus, it is advised to keep a close watch on VIT counselling portal and schedule. The refund facility will be available anytime after phase III or IV counselling. If you want to withdraw, then do it at least 15 days prior to the deadline. VIT classes usually commence in the last week of July, so make sure to complete them as per the fee refund timeline for VITEEE.
