List of VIT Colleges in India: Vellore Institute of Technology offers number of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses to eligible students. The institute offers admissions into four campuses, Vellore, Chennai, AP and Bhopal. Based on their eligibility, students can apply for admission into their preferred course and campus. VIT offers admissions into 47 BTech, 24 UG programmes, 18 integrated (UG/PG), 39 PG programmes and 1 Research programme.
As one of the top choices among private engineering colleges in India, Vellore Institute of Technology is ranked 16th in MHRD NIRF Engineering Ranking 2025. Among all Universities, the institute is ranked 14th. Every year, VIT Vellore conducts VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) for BTech, VIT Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE) for MTech and VIT Research Entrance Examination (VITREE) for PhD course.

VIT Vellore was established by Dr. G Viswanathan as Vellore Engineering College in 1984. Later, in 2001 it attained a University status. It consists of 15 schools. VIT Vellore has a full-fledged training & placement cell to periodically interact with the corporate world to explore the possibility of training and job placement of students. Some of the leading companies that were a part of the placement process in recent years include Microsoft, Intel, Deloitte, Bank of America, Philips, HP, TCS, Bosch, and many others. VIT Vellore has a strong record of placements for courses like BTech, MCA, MBA, etc. In 2025, VIT vellore recorded the highest package of INR 1 Crore per annum which is nearly 14% higher from INR 88 LPA offered in 2024. A total of 14044 offers were made including 3499 Dream, 3563 Super Dream and 6982 Regular offers from 868 participating companies. VIT University has an eco-friendly campus of around 170 acres in Chennai. It is the second campus of VIT after Vellore, established in 2010. VIT Bhopal University Campus is spread across 200 acres on the Indore-Bhopal Highway. It was founded in 2017 by the Vellore Institute of Technology. What is VITEEE?
Out of all entrance examinations conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology, VITEEE is most popularly attempted for undergraduate engineering admission. VITEEE is held as an annual exam and candidates have to qualify it for admission. Based on score obtained in VITEEE, candidates are allotted seats. VITEEE is held as a computer based test at different exam centres. No other exam scores are used for admission.

Competition for VIT Vellore CSE branch is really high. Safe VITEEE rank required for CSE is within 1500 to 1700. However, if your rank is more than, then you can opt for CSE with specialisation branches available at VIT Vellore.
