Amrita CAT registration 2026 started on October 6, 2025. The last date to fill the ACAT application form 2026 is January 26, 2026. The last date for MBA Phase 1 registration 2026 is February 15, 2025. The Amrita CAT 2026 exam will be held from February 7, 2026, and February 8, 2026, for the first session exam. The Amrita MBA Entrance Exam 2026 is conducted in computer-based test mode. Candidates will be able to fill out the Amrita CAT application form 2026 online at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham website. For admissions to the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, candidates can also use a valid score of any one of the CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT/KMAT Kerala/GMAT/GRE MBA entrance exams.

What is Amrita CAT?

Amrita Common Aptitude Test (Amrita CAT) is a national-level management entrance exam conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for admission to MBA programmes offered at Amrita School of Business at Amaravati, Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Coimbatore and Kochi campuses. The eligible students who wish to study MBA at Amrita School of Business can also avail up to 100 per cent scholarships. Apart from Amrita CAT,  the university also accepts CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT and NMAT scores for admission to its MBA programme. Candidates can also use KMAT Kerala exam scores to apply to the Department of Management, Kochi and Amritapuri campuses

Q:   Will the ACAT also be conducted in an offline mode?
A: 

The ACAT exam is conducted in a computer-based test mode across as many as 40 test cities in the country. The exam is conducted for admission to the MBA programme offered by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. The ACAT 2025 exam is scheduled to be conducted on March 8, 2025, and March 9, 2025. There is no provision of the ACAT exam being conducted offline. Candidates must visit the exam centre to take the exam online. 

Q:   How much time is needed for ACAT preparation?
A: 

The amount of time required for ACAT or Amrita MBA Entrance Exam preparation can vary from person to person depending on your existing knowledge, your familiarity with the exam pattern, and your ability to grasp the concepts being tested. Generally, candidates spend two to six months preparing for the ACAT exam. The syllabus of the ACAT exam is not very difficult. But, one also has to spend ample of time in practice sessions and mock tests to be able to master all types of ACAT questions - easy, moderate and tough.

As a rough guideline, if you have a solid foundation in the relevant subjects and can dedicate three to four hours per day to your ACAT preparation, a two to three month preparation period may be sufficient. 

Q:   Who is eligible to apply for Amrita MBA Entrance Exam?
A: 

Candidates who have a valid Bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate from a recognised board. They shall have the original and copy of the mark sheets and pass certificate of the qualifying exam along with other educational documents, such as Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets. The minimum eligibility criteria is the required qualification or requirement that each candidate must meet to be eligible for the course.

Q:   What is the ACAT syllabus?
A: 

ACAT syllabus includes all the important topics of subjects that are relevant for business and general aptitude. For ACAT exam, candidates have to study, Verbal Reasoning and Language Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge of Indian and Global Scenarios and Data Interpretation and Analysis. Given below are the key topics included in the ACAT syllabus: -

The Verbal Reasoning and Language Comprehension section of ACAT exam syllabus includes various topics of Grammar,   Vocabulary, Parajumbles, Fill in the Blanks, Sentence Corrections, Synonyms and Antonyms, Reading Comprehension, Active and Passive Voice, ErrorSpotting, etc.

The Quantitative Aptitude section of ACAT syllabus includes all the topics of Mathematics from Class 9 to 10 such as Arithmetic, Geometry, Algebra Trigonometry Modern Math, Number System, Time, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Profit and Loss, Arithmetic, Mensuration, etc.

General Knowelge of Indian and Global Scenarios: Static GK, History and Geography, Personalities, Awards and Recognitions, Sport, etc.

The Data Interpretation and Analysis syllabus of ACAT exam includes topics that require analytical interpretation of data presented in the form of Puzzles, Pie Charts, Venn Diagram, Line Graphs, Tables and Bar Graphs. It also includes topic such as Syllogisms, Blood Relations, Missing Data, Family Tree, etc. 

Q:   What is the medium and structure of the ACAT exam?
A: 

The ACAT exam will be conducted in the computer-based test mode across various test cities in the country. The medium of the ACAT question paper will be English. The students will be required to the visit the ACAT exam centre to take the exam online. The ACAT question paper will have 100 multiple-choice questions with four options each. The candidates have to mark the correct answer among the given options. They must keep in mind that for each correct answer they will be awarded three marks and for each incorrect answer one mark will be deducted from the overall score. 

Q:   Can I pay the ACAT application fee offline through cash or DD?
A: 

No, the ACAT registration fee can only be paid online. There is no provision of paying the application fee offline. Students need to the complete the ACAT application form and then pay the application fee online through credit card, debit card, internet-banking, UPI or other banking wallets. To complete the ACAT application process, fee payment is necessary.

Amrita CAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

The eligibility criteria for Amrita CAT 2026 is as follows:

  • The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised institute.
  • The candidate must have secured at least 50 per cent aggregate in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation. 
  • The candidate in the final year of graduation could also apply, subject to completion of their exam, if any, before June 30, 2026
  • Candidates having a valid test score of CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ GMAT/ GRE can apply with the test registration number.
  • Department of Management, Kochi and Amritapuri (Kollam) campuses accept valid KMAT scores.
  • Also, candidates applying for MBA-MS at Bengaluru need to have a minimum IBT-TOEFL score of 79 or an IELTS score of 6.5 with an individual category score of 6 or a PTE score of 55 with an individual category score of 50.
  • Candidates with work experience will be preferred.

The Amrita CAT 2026 application form has been released on October 6, 2025. The Amrita MBA Entrance Exam application window will be open for approximately four months and close on January 26, 2026. The ACAT application form 2026 is available online on the official website of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Candidates have to apply using their email ID and mobile number. 

Q:   Can an international student apply for ACAT?
A: 

Yes, international students can apply for the ACAT exam. Candidates applying should have a minimum of IBT-TOEFL score of 79 or IELTS score of 6.5 with individual category score of 6 or PTE score of 55 with individual category score of 50. They must also fulfil the other qualfying criteria for ACAT exam. They must have a valid passport. 

Q:   Is it mandatory to have some work experience to appear for the ACAT exam?
A: 

No, it is not mandatory to have work experience to get admission to Amrita Business School or appear for ACAT. However, students with a work experience will be given priority over others. Also, the students applying for the exam must meet the eligibility criteria stated by the university to appear for the exam.

Amrita MBA Entrance Exam Admission Process 2026

Step 1: Amrita CAT application form 2026

Candidates who wish to appear for the Amrita CAT need to register on the official website of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for the exam. The Amrita MBA entrance exam application form can be filled out online only and must be submitted before the last date of registration. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before appearing for the exam.

The application fee for the same can be paid online only using a credit card, debit card or net banking. The application fee is different for different categories.

Step 2: Download the Amrita CAT admit card

Candidates who successfully register for the Amrita CAT exam must download their admit cards from the official website of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Candidates can download their admit cards by entering their login credentials.

Step 3: Appear for the Amrita CAT exam

Amrita CAT exam 2026 will be conducted on February 7, 2026, and February 8, 2026, in the computer-based test mode. Registered candidates will be assessed on Quantitative Ability, Logical and Analytical Ability, Verbal Ability and General Awareness of the candidates. 

Step 4: Check Amrita CAT Result

Yes, there is sectional weightage in the ACAT exam. There are four sections in the ACAT question paper. There is a total of 100 MCQs in the ACAT exam and each sections has 25 multiple-choice questions each. Each question will carry three marks which makes a total of 75 marks per sections and 300 marks overall.

Q:   What is the total duration of the ACAT exam?

The ACAT exam is a time based exam. The ACAT question paper has 100 multiple-choice questions in total. The question paper is to be completed in 150 minutes or two hours and 30 minutes. Candidates appearing for the ACAT exam, must adhere to the exam timings and ensure reaching the exam centre at least an hour before the exam begins. Candidates will not be allowed to the enter the examination hall once the gates close neither will they be given extra time. They must also keep in mind the negative markings.
