The National Testing Agency conducted the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Exam 2026 on May 3. The candidates should note that the NTA released the NEET 2026 admit card on April 26. The NEET 2026 will be conducted online as a Computer-Based Test(CBT). The exam will be conducted from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM.
The West Bengal NEET 2026 Counselling will start within a month of the declaration of the NEET 2026 results. The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee(WBMCC) will notify the dates for Counselling. The candidates who are the domicile of West Bengal will be given priority over the outsiders. As per the previous year's trend, the NEET 2026 Counselling will start in the last week of July.
Earlier, for the previous session, the West Bengal NEET counselling was completed in December last year with a special stray round. A total of 5 rounds of counselling were held for seat allocation.

Salient Features of the West Bengal NEET Counselling 2026
The West Bengal NEET Counselling will be done by the state Counselling body. It will release the Seat Matrix of all the medical colleges and invite the candidates as per their rank in the NEET exam. The State counselling is conducted in multiple rounds. As per the previous year's trends, 4 rounds will be conducted for the seat allocation. After completing West Bengal NEET counselling round-wise, various institutes will tentatively conduct their college-level counselling to fill the remaining vacant seats (if any).
To participate in WB NEET counselling 2026, interested candidates will need to fill the application form. WB NEET counselling comprises registration, choice filling, seat allotment result, and reporting. The registration form is accepted after the payment of the registration fee. After successfully submitting the NEET counselling registration form, a merit list is released.
West Bengal has 15 per cent reserved seats for candidates from other states and is known as the All India Quota (AIQ). The remaining 85 per cent of the seats are reserved for candidates with domicile in the West Bengal state.
The candidates whose names will be on the list will have to report to the document verification centres if needed; otherwise, verification will be done online. After the document verification process, the candidates have to fill their choice of colleges priority-wise. A provisional merit list of shortlisted candidates will be released for the first round of seat allotment. After this, the subsequent counselling rounds will take place depending upon the cutoff and availability of seats.

WBMCC organized a stray vacancy round after the Round 3 to fill the vacant seats. This round is conducted only in case there are vacant seats left for candidates. In some cases, if seats remain vacant after the stray vacancy round, an extended stray vacancy round is conducted for the candidates.

The document verification for the WB NEET counselling is conducted before the candidate reports at the allotted institute. It is important for the candidate to visit the institute with the original documents to confirm the admission. In case the information provided at the time of registration doesn’t matches with the documents submitted, the admission will be cancelled.
There will be three rounds of counselling to be conducted by the WBMCC for WB NEET counselling. Fresh registration will be invited and accepted in each round of counselling. Candidates can opt out of counselling at any step adhering to the WB NEET UG seat surrender policy. Before each round of WB counselling, a seat matrix will be released for the candidates that will enable them exercise choice filling and locking option.
