Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi has set a new benchmark in research support by increasing its PhD fellowship from INR 37,000 to INR 60,000 per month, the highest in the country. This move exceeds the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Department of Science & Technology (DST) norms, aiming to cultivate a research ecosystem by providing scholars with the financial stability needed to focus entirely on innovation and discovery.

Prof. Ranjan Bose, Director, IIIT-Delhi, says: “The increased Ph.D. fellowship aligns with the vision of advancing research excellence by attracting the best students in the country, fostering high-quality, impactful research, and empowering our students to make meaningful contributions to global scientific progress.”

With IIIT Delhi's enhanced fellowship, scholars will gain access to extensive financial support and research opportunities, including:

• Highest Fellowship in the Country: INR 60,000 per month (including HRA), offering unmatched financial stability.
• Global Research Exposure: INR 1.5 lakh in additional support for international lab visits, enabling collaboration with top researchers worldwide.
• Conference & Workshop Support: A Professional Development Allowance (PDA) of INR 2.5 lakh to present research at prestigious platforms.
• Research Contingency Grant: INR 20,000 per year for five years to cover essential research expenses.
• One-Time Laptop Grant: INR 50,000 to equip scholars with essential research tools.
• State-of-the-Art Infrastructure: Access to cutting-edge labs, high-performance computing resources, and advanced research tools.
