The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the CSIR NET 2019 exam on December 15. The exam will be conducted in 224 cities across India for candidates who plan to become lecturers or be awarded with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the following Science subjects – Chemical Sciences; Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences; Life Sciences; Mathematical Sciences; and Physical Sciences.
Currently, CSIR NET online application process 2019 is underway. At the time of filling CSIR NET application form 2019, candidates need to select four cities (in order of preference) in which they wish to appear for the exam. It may be noted that it is mandatory for candidates to fill all four choices of cities as options.

Documents to carry at CSIR NET 2019 exam centre
On the day of CSIR UGC NET exam, candidates need to mandatorily carry the below-mentioned documents to the allotted exam centre:
- Printed copy of CSIR NET admit card 2019
- One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the online application form)
- A valid and original photo ID card – PAN card/ driving license/ voter ID/ passport/ Aadhaar card (with photograph)/ Aadhaar enrolment number/ ration card
- Persons with Disability (PwD) certificate, if applicable
Note: Candidate’s name on the photo ID card should match with the name mentioned on the admit card. The official notification reads, “If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, candidate must show the relevant document at the time of exam. Marriage certificate/ divorce/ decree/ legal name change document.”
Documents/ items not to carry at CSIR NET exam centre 2019
The candidates are not allowed to carry the following documents/ items inside the NET exam centre:
- Baggage
- Textual material (printed or written)
- Electronic items such as calculator, mobile phone, Bluetooth devices, pager, digital watch etc
- Docu pen, slide rules, log tables, etc
- Eatables and drinks such as tea, coffee, cold drink and snacks (Note: Candidates suffering from diabetes are allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets and fruit and transparent water 14 bottle
CSIR NET exam centres 2019 – Important points to note
- The complete details regarding the allotted CSIR NET test centre 2019 will be mentioned on the admit card of candidates
- Candidates have to appear at the allotted exam centre at their own cost according to the date and time mentioned on CSIR NET admit card
- NTA will try to allot the exam centre in order of the city choice opted by a candidate in the application form. However, due to administrative reasons, a different city of nearby area may be allotted
- Examination centre allotted to a candidate will not be changed by NTA under any circumstances
- Candidates appearing for CSIR NET 2019 exam in the first shift should report at the allotted exam centre at 7:30 AM. Candidates appearing for the exam in second shift should report at 12:30 PM
- Candidates appearing for the exam in first shift will not be allowed to enter the CSIR NET exam centre after 8:30 AM. Candidates appearing for the exam in second shift will not be allowed to enter the test centre after 1:30 PM

The CSIR NET exam is considered to be Moderate to Difficult in overall difficulty. Generally, Part C of the exam is considered to be difficult.
