IBPS Clerk 2020 Mains Exam Pattern

IBPS Clerk mains exam pattern is divided into four sections: General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude and Quantitative Aptitude. The total duration of the test is 160 minutes with sectional timings. The test will have a total of 190 questions and the total marks are 200. The structure of the exam pattern is given below.

Subject-wise IBPS Clerk 2020 Last Minute Preparation Tips

English Language

  • This requires a good hold on the vocabulary and grammar rules
  • Pick questions where you have a good hold and are less time-taking
  • It is advisable to attempt topics such as Cloze Test, Fillers, Spotting Errors, Vocabulary based questions from RC at first
  • Avoid guess work as there is negative marking

Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude

  • This section is highly scoring. Therefore, prepare this section well.
  • Attempt questions from Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Number/Alphanumeric Series as they are time-consuming
  • Do not attempt Puzzle and Seating Arrangement question first as they are bit time-consuming and confusing

Quantitative Aptitude

  • Try to attempt the topics that are less time consuming such as Approximation, Number Series, Data Interpretation
  • Do not take time in cracking the pattern of number series. If you cannot solve the pattern then move on to the next question
  • After completing the above-mentioned topics, move on to the arithmetic questions
  • Use short tricks while attempting the questions. Leave tricky and complex questions to attempt at last.

 General Awareness

  • Revise current affairs, banking, static and financial news of last five to six months
  • Do not miss out the details of any big event held recently
  • Revise the latest government policies and schemes
  • Go through the RBI policies and schemes

IBPS Clerk 2020 Last Minute Preparation Tips: General Tips and Tricks

  • Do not waste time on a single question. If you are not able to solve it then switch to another question
  • Solve mock tests within the time limit to get rid of exam anxiety
  • Do not make a wild guess as there is negative marking for wrong answers. 0.25 marks will be deducted as a penalty
  • Solve the questions with complete accuracy to clear IBPS Clerk cutoff
  • Do not forget to take the printed copy of IBPS Clerk admit card along with one original photo-identity proof
  • Do not stress yourself as it might affect your performance. Stay calm and relaxed before the exam
