The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has successfully conducted IBPS Clerk 2020 mains exam on February 28. The mains exam was conducted for candidates who have qualified the prelims exam. According to the students, the overall paper of the mains exam was moderate. As per the section-wise analysis, the Reasoning was tough, Quantitative Aptitude was easy, English was easy and GA was easy. Students found the Reasoning to be tough compared to the other sections. Questions in Current Affairs were mostly asked from the events that took place in December, January and February.

IBPS Clerk exam pattern 2020 was divided into four sections-General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude and Quantitative Aptitude. The total duration of the test was 160 minutes with different sectional timings. The test paper carried a total of 190 questions. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. The marks of candidates will be normalised to announce the IBPS Clerk result.

IBPS Clerk 2020 Mains Exam Analysis & Review by Students

Shiksha visited one of the exam centres in Greater Noida where around 35 students had appeared for the exam to gather the feedback of candidates regarding the overall and section-wise difficulty level of the exams. Check below the feedback shared by candidates.

Ansu Mishra: "The overall paper was moderate. The Reasoning section was tough compared to the other sections. The Quantitative Aptitude, English and General Awareness/Financial Awareness/Banking Awareness sections were easy. Mostly questions from Current Affairs were asked from the events that took place in January and February. There were three Reading Comprehension questions in English. The level of Puzzles in Reasoning was good. The Reasoning paper was good compared to the SBI Clerk paper held last year. GA section mostly carried questions from Current Affairs. All Data Interpretation questions were basically Ratio and Percentage based."

Satyen Jaiswal: "General Awareness was easy, English was of moderate level. Maths was easy and Reasoning section was tough. One DI in Quant was hard but the Arithmetic portion was moderate, Simplification questions were easy, Approximation was easy. Tabular-based, graph-based, pie-chart-based and caselet-based Data Interpretation questions were asked in Quantitative Aptitude. In Reasoning, there were four puzzles, coded blood relation questions. In English, there were three Reading Comprehension questions, Match of the Following. There were no questions from Error Detection. General Awareness questions were from the Current Affairs of December, January and February and Static GK."

Sapna: "The paper was moderate. GA was easy, questions were asked from the events that took place in the last three to four months. In Reasoning, questions of two marks were easy. I attempted 18 questions in Reasoning. In Quant, there were two Data Interpretation questions that were doable. There were five questions from Simplification, Profit and Loss, Time and Distance, etc."

Sakshi Sharma: "The overall level of the paper was moderate. It was easy compared to IBPS RRB exam. GA and English sections were easy. Maths and Reasoning were moderate. The Maths section covered all the topics that were given in IBPS Clerk syllabus. There were no questions from Number Series. There were four Data Interpretation questions. Few questions in Current Affairs were from Banking Awareness. There were no questions from Static GK. In GA, there was one question on the stake of government and RBI in NABARD, first private bank in Nepal, etc. In English, questions were asked from Reading Comprehension. Sentence Rearrangement, Synonyms and Antonyms, etc.In Reasoning, questions were asked from Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, etc."
