IBPS has made certain changes in the recruitment process of IBPS Clerk exam. Some of the important announcements made by IBPS are the release of new exam day guidelines due to COVID-19, reduction in the number of participating banks, hike in exam fees across categories, no pre-exam training due to COVID-19, etc.

IBPS Clerk

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released IBPS Clerk notification 2020. It has been observed that the examination authority has announced certain changes in the recruitment process of IBPS Clerk 2020 exam. Some of the important announcements made by IBPS are release of new exam day guidelines due to COVID-19, reduction in the number of participating banks, hike in exam fees across categories, no pre-exam training due to COVID-19, etc. Here in this article, we have explained in details the important changes announced by IBPS.

Know Important Changes Announced for IBPS Clerk 2020

Listed below are few changes announced for IBPS Clerk recruitment.

New Exam Day Guidelines

In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, IBPS has announced new exam day guidelines. Some of the guidelines are given below.

  • Social distancing will be followed at IBPS Clerk exam centre
  • Different reporting time will be printed for a set of candidates to avoid overcrowding
  • Candidates should report atleast 15 minutes before the reporting time mentioned in IBPS Clerk admit card
  • Wearing of mask is compulsory
  • Candidates can carry personal hand sanitiser of 50ml
  • Candidates need to carry admit card and photo-identity proof
  • Candidates are advised to carry their own water bottle
  • Candidates must have Aarogya Setu app installed on their mobile phones
  • Candidate registration for IBPS Clerk will be done through photo capture
  • Rough sheets will be kept at each candidate desk. No additional rough sheets will be provided to candidates
  • On completion of the exam, candidates need to move out in an orderly manner

Due to the merger of various banks, the number of participating banks has been reduced from 17 to 11. The participating banks are given below.

Number of Vacancies

The number of IBPS vacancies have dipped drastically. This year, a total of 1,557 vacancies have been announced. However, last year the number of vacancies announced were 12,075. The number of vacancies dipped by 87% .Read More

Hike in Application Fees

IBPS has increased the application fees across categories. Candidates belonging to the General and OBC category are required to pay Rs 850 and SC/ST/PWD candidates need to pay Rs 175. The application fees are given below.

Check IBPS Clerk 2020 application form

No Pre-Exam Training

Due to COVID-19, the pre-exam training will not be conducted. The pre-exam training is conducted for the candidates belonging to  Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ Minority Communities/ Ex-Servicemen/ Persons With Benchmark Disabilities.

Self-Declaration

Candidates need to bring self-declaration regarding their health condition and travel history. The self-declaration needs to be filled as per the format given by IBPS.
