IBPS RRB Eligibility 2025 The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) released IBPS RRB eligibility 2025 along with the notification. The eligibility criteria is prescribed in terms of educational qualification, nationality and age limit. According to IBPS RRB eligibility criteria, any candidate who has completed their graduation can apply for the exam. The minimum IBPS RRB age limit prescribed for the exam is 18 years. IBPS RRB eligibility is different for different posts. Candidates need to follow the eligibility criteria or else they will be debarred from appearing in the IBPS RRB exam. Q:   What is IBPS RRB eligibility criteria?
A:

IBPS RRB eligibility criteria is prescribed by the examination authority separately for different posts. The basic educational qualification for IBPS RRB exam is graduation. However, the educational qualification vary post-wise. The post-wise age limit for IBPS RRB exam is given below:

For Officer Scale- III (Senior Manager): Above 21 years-Below 40 years i.e. candidatesshould not have been born earlier than 03.06.1983 and later than 31.05.2002 (both dates inclusive)
For Officer Scale- II (Manager): Above 21 years - Below 32 years i.e. candidatesshould not have been born earlier than 03.06.1991 and later than 31.05.2002 (both dates inclusive)
For Officer Scale- I (Assistant Manager): Above 18 years - Below 30 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1993 and later than 31.05.2005 (both dates inclusive)
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Between 18 years and 28 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.06.1995 and later than 01.06.2005 (both dates inclusive)

The upper age limit is relaxed for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Q:   How many marks are required for RRB PO interview?
A:

For the IBPS RRB PO interview, a total of 100 marks are allotted. The weightage of the Online Examination to the Interview is 80:20, respectively. Candidates need to secure 40 per cent in the interview.  While for those belonging to ST/SC/OBC/PWD categories, the qualifying percentage is slightly lower at 35 per cent. The final selection of candidates is done based on the Mains exam and interview.

What is IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria?

IBPS RRB eligibility is certain parameters in terms of age limit, educational qualification, nationality, which candidates need to fulfill inorder to be eligible for the exam. Candidates should meet these parameters or else their candidature will be cancelled for IBPS RRB recruitment. Candidates must indicate their age, educational qualification correctly in the IBPS RRB application form  since it will be verified during document verification. 

IBPS RRB Eligibility 2025: Nationality

A citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or

  • A subject of Bhutan or
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to the above categories should be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

IBPS RRB Age Limit As on 01.09.2025

The post-wise eligibility criteria of IBPS RRB are given below:

IBPS RRB Clerk Age Limit 

According to IBPS RRB Office Assistant Eligibility, candidates must be between 18 years and 28 years. Candidates should have not been born earlier than 02.09.1997 and later than 01.09.2007 (both dates inclusive). 

IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Age Limit 

Candidates should be above 18 years and below 30 years. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.09.1995 and later than 01.09.2007 (both dates inclusive). 

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II (Manager) Age Limit 

Candidates should be above 21 years old and below 32 years. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.09.1993 and later than 01.09.2004 (both dates inclusive).

IBPS RRB Officer Scale- III (Senior Manager) Age Limit 

Candidates should be above 21 years and below 40 years old. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.09.1985 and later than 01.09.2004 (both dates inclusive).

Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen 

(For the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
Actual period of service rendered in the defence forces + 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years

In the case of Ex- servicemen commissioned officers, including ECOs/ SSCOs, who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the next one year from the last date for receipt of application) other than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalidment, subject to ceiling as per Government guidelines

IBPS RRB Guidelines Related to Age Relaxation 

Candidates can check the following important points related to IBPS RRB eligibility criteria 2022 in terms of age relaxation are given below:

  • The relaxation in the upper age limit to SC/ST/OBC candidates is allowed on a cumulative basis, together with only one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted.
  • Candidates applying for the posts of Officers Scale I, II and II and seeking age relaxation are required to submit copies of necessary certificates at the time of interview. 
  • Candidates applying for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) are required to produce the certificates at the time of verification of documents on the day of joining. 
  • In case of candidates belonging to OBC category, the certificate should specifically mention that they do not belong to the creamy layer. Such candidates cannot avail of the relaxation and they must apply under the General category. 
  • Ex-Servicemen candidates who have already secured employment under the Central Government in Group C and D will be permitted the benefit of age relaxation. However, such candidates will not be eligible for the benefit of reservation on the second occasion for Ex-Servicemen in Central Government jobs. 
  • Ex-Servicemen category will be ceased from candidates for employment on the civil side if they have previously availed the relaxation benefits in seeking employment in civil services before applying for the exam. 
  • Candidates who have previously served in the armed forces will be categorized as ex-servicemen. They can apply for re-employment one year before the completion of the specified terms of engagement and avail relaxations available to ex-servicemen. They will not be permitted to leave the uniform until they complete their tenure in Armed Forces Union.

IBPS RRB Office Assistant Qualification

RRB Office Assistant qualification requires a graduation in any discipline. Candidates can check below the IBPS RRB Office Assistant educational qualification:

  • Candidates must have completed graduation from a recognised university
  • Proficiency in the local language is compulsory
  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of computer

IBPS RRB Qualification 2025 for Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager)

  • Graduation from a recognised university
  • Preference will be given to candidates having a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy
  • Proficiency in local language
  • Working knowledge of computer is necessary

IBPS RRB Educational Qualification for Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer (Manager)

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate.
  • Preference will be given to the candidates having a degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
  • Candidates must have two years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution.

IBPS RRB Educational Qualification for Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (Manager)

Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or it's equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Desirable

Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP, etc.

Chartered Accountant

Certified Associate (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

One year as Chartered Accountant

Law Officer

Degree from a recognised University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 per cent 

Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for not less than two years

Treasury Manager

Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution

One year

Marketing Officer

MBA in Marketing from a recognized university

One year

Agricultural Officer

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 per cent

Two years

Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager)

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 per cent in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree/ Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.

Minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions

Important points to note:

  • All the educational qualifications should be recognised and I have declared the result as on the date of application
  • Candidates must possess proper documents issued by the university mentioning that the result has been declared by them. In case the result has been declared online, a certificate duly signed by the authority must be provided at the time of the interview in the original
  • Candidates should indicate the percentage obtained in graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application

IBPS RRB Language Proficiency

For recruitment of Officers Scale I & Office Assistant (Multipurpose), proficiency in the local language is an essential qualification:

  • Candidates who have studied the language of the state in Class 8 or any level above Class 8 in government recognised boards. 
  • Where candidates do not meet the requirement in local language at the time of selection will be given a time of six months from the date of joining to acquire the proficiency. 

IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Persons with Disability 

Candidates can apply for IBPS RRB examination under PwD category if they suffer from the disability not less than 40 per cent certified by Medical Board. PwD category includes candidates with the following disabilities:

  • Visually Impaired category includes candidates with total blindness, visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses and limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degrees or worse
  • Deaf and Hearing Impaired means loss of sixty decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. Such candidates experience total loss of hearing ability in both ears
  • Orthopedically Challenged candidates who have locomotor disability or cerebral palsy with locomotor impairment of minimum of 40 per cent can apply for IBPS RRB under this category

Guidelines for Scribes

The visually impaired candidates whose writing speed is adversely affected permanently for any reason can use their own scribe. The following rules will be applied in the case of scribes:

  • Candidates will have to arrange their own scribe at their own cost
  • The scribe may be from any academic stream
  • Both the candidate and scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfills all the eligibility criteria. Candidates availing the facility of scribes will be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes 
  • The scribe arranged by the candidate should not be a candidate of IBPS RRB exam

IBPS RRB PO Eligibility 2025

 To be eligible for IBPS RRB PO exam, candidates must be a graduate from a recognised university. Candidates having a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy are given preference. It is important to have proficiency in local language. Working knowledge of computer is necessary. The age limit prescribed for IBPS RRB PO is 18 to 30 years.

IBPS RRB Clerk Eligibility 2025

The educational qualification prescribed for IBPS RRB Clerk is that candidates have completed graduation from a recognised university. Proficiency in the local language is compulsory. Candidates must have a working knowledge of computer. The age limit prescribed for IBPS RRB Clerk is 18 to 28 years.
