The Mizoram TET exam (Teachers Eligibility Test) 2023 is conducted by the Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE). The Mizoram TET exam is held to examine the eligibility of the candidates as teachers for their further appointment through the TET scores and recruitment to Classes 1-8 in the schools of Mizoram.

Mizoram TET Application Form will be available in the month of October 2023, tentatively. The TET exam will be held in the month of December 2023, tentatively. Candidates will be able to download the Mizoram TET admit card 2023 a week prior to the exam date. Candidates applying for the post of Teacher may opt for both papers.

Mizoram TET 2024 Application Form will be released soon on the official website. The application form is released after the issue of official notification. The notification for the Mizoram TET exam will be released as a PDF. The PDF comprises the details like eligibility, exam dates, application dates etc. The candidates can download the PDF notification by following the ways given below

What is Mizoram TET?

Mizoram Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is conducted by the Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) on behalf of the Government of Mizoram to determine the eligibility of candidates for their appointment as teachers from Classes 1-8. Through Mizoram TET score, candidates can apply for teacher recruitment in Government Schools, Deficit Schools and Government Aided Schools in the state. The Mizoram TET score may also be applicable in unaided private schools that exercise the option of considering the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).

After qualifying the Mizoram TET exam, the candidates are awarded with the eligibility Certificate. Mizoram TET does not guarantee any job after the candidate qualifies the exam. Though, the candidates will become eligible for the recruitment exam after qualifying for the Mizoram TET exam. The recruitment exam for recruiting teachers in the school of Mizoram. The candidates can apply for the different vacancies according to their eligibility. The Mizoram government releases the vacancies for the teachers according to the need of the state.

Q:   How many papers does one need to give to qualify the Mizoram TET exam?

Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 5 need to qualify Mizoram TET Paper 1. Candidates planning to teach Classes 6 to 8 need to qualify for Mizoram TET Paper 2. Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to qualify both papers. The candidates have to apply for the papers according to their eligibility set by the board. The educational qualification criteria has been given below for the candidates:

  • Paper 1 
    • Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
    • Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd)
  • Paper 2
    • Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Graduation with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in one-year BEd

Q:   Is there any age criteria to apply for the Mizoram TET exam?
A: 

Candidates should be a minimum of 18 of age in order to be eligible to apply for the Mizoram TET exam. There is no upper age limit for the Mizoram TET exam. The educational qualification to apply for the Mizoram TET exam has been given below for the candidates

Primary

  • Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd).
  • Graduation with BEd (final year appearing or passed)

Upper Primary

  • Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

  • Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks and a one year BEd.
  • Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks with a four-year BElEd.

No, you can apply and appear for the Mizoram TET exam for any number of times. The Mizoram TET Certificate is valid for a lifetime. The guidelines to take the Mizoram TET exam are

  • The candidates must fulfill the educational qualification requirements
  • Age of the candidates can't be less than 18 years
  • No upper age limit

The Mizoram TET application 2023 will be released on its portal. Candidates will be able to fill the form in the following manner:

  • Visit www.mbse.edu.in.
  • Click on the 'MTET 2023 Brochure and Application form' link.
  • Take a printout of the Mizoram TET application form on both sides of the page.
  • Fill out the complete application form.
  • Submit the fully-filled form along with the exam fees to the respective district office.

Mizoram TET Selection Process 2023

Mizoram TET selection process has the following stages:

Candidates need to fill Mizoram TET 2023 application form in offline mode. Mizoram TET application fee is INR 500 for one paper and INR 800 for both the papers for General category candidates. SC/ST/Differently Abled/OBC candidates need to pay INR 400 for one paper and INR 700 for both papers. All candidates whose applications are accepted are issued the Mizoram TET admit card in offline mode. Candidates can collect their admit cards as per the prescribed schedule from the examination centres. Mizoram TET is conducted for two papers – Paper 1 (primary school teachers) and Paper 2 (middle school teachers). Candidates can appear for both or any one of the Mizoram TET papers as per their preference. Mizoram TET result is declared in offline mode. Candidates who score 55 per cent or more in the Mizoram TET exam are declared pass and are issued the eligibility certificate.

Mizoram TET Admit Card 2023

The Mizoram TET admit card 2023 will be made available on the official website one week before the exam date. Candidates need to visit their respective Mizoram TET exam centres 2023 to collect their admit cards. The MBSE did not release the admit card online. The list of centres was provided by the MBSE from where candidates needed to collect their cards.

Mizoram TET Exam Pattern 2023

As per the Mizoram TET exam pattern 2023, objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) are asked in the exam wherein each question carries four alternatives, out of which, candidates need to choose one option as the most appropriate answer. Each question is of one mark. There is no negative marking in the exam. Candidates are allotted two hours and thirty minutes to attempt the paper.

Mizoram TET Qualifying Marks 2023

The candidates need to score at least 55 per cent marks or more in the Mizoram TET examination to pass the exam and get the MTET eligibility certificate.

Mizoram TET Certificate: Validity

Mizoram TET qualified candidates are awarded the eligibility certificates by the MBSE. The Mizoram TET certificate, unless otherwise notified by the competent authority, is valid for life. There is no restriction on the number of attempts a candidate can take for acquiring the MTET certificate. A candidate who has already qualified for the MTET exam may appear again for improving his/her score.
