CUET UG 2024 Geography Analysis

CUET UG 2024:The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted CUET UG Geography exam on May 17, 2024, in the morning shift 1A. CUET Geography exam(paper code:313) will be conducted in offline mode. Candidates can check CUET Geography exam analysis here based on students' and experts' opinions. Candidates can check the section-wise weightage of Geography topics. Candidates can check section-wise difficulty level, overall difficulty level, and students’ Reactions.The  National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting CUET UG 2024 exam in hybrid mode in multiple shifts from May 15 to May 24, 2024.

NTA will release the official CUET Answer Key shortly after the completion of CUET 2024 Exam.

CUET UG Geography Question Paper Analysis 2024: Difficulty Level  

National Testing Agency held CUET Geography exam today in offline(pen & paper) mode in the morning shift 1A. Shiksha will provide CUET Geography question paper analysis based on students’ responses who have appeared in the CUET Geography 2024 exam. CUET Geography Questions paper level was moderate in most cases, however, some concept and fact-based questions were found difficult as per the students’ opinions. Several questions were asked about world geography. The table below contains section-wise difficulty levels and topic-wise distribution of questions asked in the CUET UG 2024 Geography question paper:

Shivanshi said" The Geography Exam difficulty level was moderate, most of the questions asked from primary activities & Geography part 1 book. Some of the questions were also asked from the World Geography book, mostly related to maps. She didn't faced any technical glitches during the examination. I have opted for psychology, Geography, English & Political science."

Q:   From where can I download CUET sample papers?
A: 

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) sample papers are released by the conducting body, National Testing Agency (NTA). To download the CUET question papers follow the steps below:

  1. Go to- CUET Question Paper
  2. Select CUET subject to download the question paper for
  3. Click on the tab download
  4. Create the login details for new registrations
  5. Link to download the CUET question paper will be sent on the registered email ID
  6. Click on the link provided and save the PDF.
Q:   How many questions are there in the language section of CUET UG?
A: 

CUET UG Language section will include 50 questions. Candidates must attempt all questions. There will be no optional questions.

The language section will check candidate's reading comprehension based on different types of passages. This section will also include questions from grammar. To prepare for the CUET UG language section, candidates must solve previous year question papers and mock tests to become familiar with the type of questions asked in the exam. 

Q:   What type of questions are asked in the CUET exam?
A: 

The CUET questions are objective in nature and carries four options also known as MCQs. Candidates will have to choose the correct answer option and click on it with the help of mouse. Since CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in a CBT mode, test-takers will be able to mark only one answer option. In case it is the correct option, students will get +5 marks and in case of wrong answer, negative marking scheme will be applied. Hence, candidates must ensure the accuracy of the answer before selecting the answer. 

Q:   Is it compulsory to attempt all the sections of the CUET question paper?
A: 

CUET UG question paper for each subject will consist of 50 questions. Candidates will be required to attempt all questions and no optional questions will be provided. In CUET UG 2026 there are 37 subjects- 13 languages, 23 domain subjects and general tests. While filling the CUET application form, candidates can select upto five CUET subjects aligning with the subjects studied in class 12th and course requirement.

Candidates must attempt all the questions of the subjects selected. However, candidates must keep in mind the negative marking and select the options carefully.

CUET Geography Marking Scheme 

  • Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: +5 
  • Any incorrect option marked will be -1 mark. 
  • Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark. 
  • If more than one option is found to be correct then +5 will be given to only those who have marked any of the correct options. 
  • If all options are found to be correct then +5 will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question. 
  • If no options are found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given +5 marks.

CUET UG cut-offs will be released soon for individual institutes. Based on the cut-off score universities will allow students to take admission in their desired courses. However, Shiksha will publish a tentative cut-off based on previous year trends and experts' opinions. Candidates can check the expected CUET cut-off for courses requiring CUET English subject mapping.

No, CUET is not required to get admission into St. Wilfred's College of Arts, Commerce and Science. The college offers merit-based admission into UG and PG programmes.

No, VELS School of Mass Communication does not accept CUET or any other entrance for that matter. All courses accept merit-based admissions. Which means, only your Class 10/ 12/ UG marks will be considered depending on the programme.

No, CUET-UG counselling is yet to begin for academic year 2026. Results for this year's exam are scheduled to release by July. Counselling rounds will begin only after results have been declared. Candidates can track counselling dates from website of TISS, Mumbai for BSc admission.

No, candidates cannot get admission into BA at Tata Institute of Social Sciences without appearing for CUET-UG. Candidates will be selected during CUET-UG counselling for which, appearing in its entrance exam is a mandatory requirement.

Yes, CUET-UG is a mandatory entrance exam for admission into Tata Institute of Social Sciences BA course. No other entrance exams are accepted for admission into this course and candidates cannot apply directly.

CUET-UG registrations also affect admission schedule if TISS, Mumbai.
